And to think I was going to switch on the tv for a bit of entertainment.

Entertainment on TV ceased with the last episode of Fawlty Towers. Hmmm is there touch of Basil Fawlty about this, err, debate?

I'd rather get one of these for $4000 dollars:

Val. 7750 based, excellent readability, so far proven company, real innovation and technology, apparent staying power. I'd (more) gladly deal with lack of parts and service for this watch if Damasko closes its doors.

So what's stopping you from buying one

Many of us have fun with independents and micro-brands. Dan Henry, Baltic, in my case and a few other members, RGM, come to mind. The serious companies provide excellent support. Will they be around in 20 years? Who knows? We take a risk. In contrast to the subject brand however, I have to say that looking at their and website, there is an air of “doth protest too much” BS that is inescapable. Those of us trying to keep our UG collections alive well understand the parts conundrum however.

What irritates me is that your post is predacated on the assumption that I'm not aware of the risks.
Of course I am.
I'm not stupid.
I'm fully aware that the brand in question may not be around this time next year, not helped by the fact that watch enthusiasts a lot of the time decry them because they enjoy seeing failure.
Personally I think new brands should be celebrated and supported by the watch community, not shot down in flames before they've even taken off.
I remember the same doom and gloom merchants attacking the relaunch of the Triumph motorcycle brand back in the early 90s.
John Bloor its founder was a former double glazing salesman and property developer, and this of course was used by the haters to portray him as a fly by night cowboy by the hardcore Meridan Triumph stolwarts.
"Don't waste your money" they said "because you'll never get parts when they go bust in a few years.
Luckily these people were ignored by the buying public and Triumph Hinkley under Bloor went on to be a massive success, and today are one of the top worldwide sellers.
It amounts to the same thing as this.

Has it ever occurred to you that not everything’s about you and the advice being given in this thread is to help others who may be considering a Code41 or other micro brand watch?

Sorry to be one of the few who doesn't worship the ground you walk on.
That must really goad you
Now do me a favour and go pick on someone else
I don't take you seriously for one minute

No one does and it doesn't, I assure you.

Picking on you? How fragile are you?

I personally don't take you seriously for one minute, I assure you.

Being attacked simply for liking a particular watch.
What weird people

Who is attacking you?

You’re picking fights with people who are saying (sensible) things that you don’t seem to want to hear.

Maybe walk away from the computer?

Locking this thread just because I’m not keen on giving the company any more publicity and the weirdly AstroTurfy promoters are getting a bit much.
