Any surprises coming up?

Read on another forum, that someone was at an Omega AD who confirmed a panda speedy to be announced shortly. So presume the image is correct, especially since the PO leaks before Christmas. Looks very nice and would have to see it in the flesh to see if I prefer it to the standard black, but prefer it to the white.

I think, in the grand scheme of things, this wouldn’t pull me away from the classic black or “modern” lacquer white, but I’m going to see it in the flesh to see if it will change my mind.

For what it's worth, I was at my local Omega Boutique yesterday and the manager confirmed new Speedy being delivered on Tuesday. Showed her the pic from this thread and she commented "somebody's in trouble". Pricing is 10.2k USD. Picking it up Tuesday morning. Will post pics from the Boutique.

Top stuff, looking forward to seeing them.

It would be interesting to know what justifies the 10,200 instead of the 8000 (on the White for example)

The White Dial now sells for 9100 USD. Greed, tariffs, or just because they can.

I didn't notice the price hike... unless they make price increases across the board on the same day of course...! Otherwise, there will have to be something different, perhaps a material or certification difference? Who knows...

Figure if you get one of these on Tues then you can flip it fast for +$500-$1000. After that, it will eventually level off and be worth 80-90% of MSRP when you sell to a dealer or PP.

Not sure how long term ST1s will do after this.

Most Omega prices jumped when Trump threw a 39% tariff on Swiss watches. Since reduced to 15% but Omega didn't lower any pricing to reflect this.

I'm sure some will do just that. Most of the members of this forum who know me know that I never flip a watch. Just buy them and enjoy them.😀

No price changes here in the UK, so I guess we'll see what the difference is come Tuesday. I'm sure there should be an obvious reason (if there's a difference in materials, etc.). If not, I'll see what my OB comes up with 😉

Oh well, I guess the ST1 (which I happen to own from new) is different enough from this. Radial dial, fully brushed case, no applied markers, truly limited and a different basis in general reflected in the pushers, hands, etc. Oh, and when I got it, it was less than half of the presumed MSRP of the new one... Did I mention hesalite? 😇

I have a funny relationship with the ST1. I ordered piece 140. Sold it after a year. Missed it and bought used no 1037. Sold it after 4 months. I couldn't decide whether I wanted to have it under regular rotation or not and didn't want to beat up such a nice limited edition.

Among the often-greedy Swiss watch brands, Omega’s pricing has always been relatively rational. I think the bezel has been updated to ceramic, and the dial utilizes better craftsmanship than the previous white dial—possibly lacquer. Omega’s price increases certainly have their reasons. For watches like the 321 Ed White, the price has remained largely unchanged for almost two years (excluding the U.S., where it is affected by tariffs).
