Any rumors of a new Diver 300m?

I've been waiting for this day for the last five years.

And it comes just when I'm completely happy with my freshly serviced 2531.80. 馃槻

Now I'm hoping the new Seamaster is just the Bond 60th Anniversary watch without the Bond animation on the back. Keep it 42mm so I have no temptation to buy it.

Thanks for sharing. I guess this means it鈥檚 nothing but promo event for the two recent releases. Maybe Im wrong

This announcement uses the same background and coloration but is a completely different date than the first announcement

This is definitely a new thing. The new Bond actor is supposed to be named before the end of the year and my SA told me a new Bond watch will be released in conjunction with that announcement. That could be what this is about.

Edit - Maybe not.

Had one for a while and it wore extremely well.
Issue I had is couldn't read the time much of the time with the matte dial, fautina lume, and AR coating combination. Got so frustrated thought about getting it relumed. Ended up trading it for a different watch.
Same as me.

"Celebrating the Omega Seamaster 300M James Bond and Spectre series"

Thats the two watches that came out some weeks ago, that was so breath takingly boring that we already forgot them, isnt it?

Yep.

I wasn't 100% sure about it being a full new gen diver but I thought no, surely there's no way they'd do a big announcement for two completely run of the mill parts bin watches they already launched over a month prior...

Eagerly awaiting the announcement. Not sure I believe a new model (updated Seamaster) is coming & more another variant.

How long do I wait for an update or bite the bullet on the no date monochrome

Do you like the current gen or not and what can you reasonably expect Omega to change, might you prefer the hypothetical changes, and how long might it take for them release these hypothetical changes? I say buy now.

But what if I want to own this generation as well?

Keep the current gen. Buy the new gen. Buy all of the watches. Just keep buying. . .

I do, however a slightly smaller variant would be ideal. Also not keen on the fully lumed bezel (feel that goes against the vintage vibe the watch is going for). A tapering bracelet would be great also.

However I feel they could full PO and change it completely so who knows.

Last refresh was 2018 I believe. Is the current generation the longest running without an update?

The First Gen SMP ran from 1993-2006 if you include the Quartz variant, 1994-2006 if you don't. The Gen4 still has quite a way to go to beat that.

I just don't see Omega making monumental or significant changes. It doesn't seem to be their way. The current gen doesn't have fully lumed bezels, or there arent many versions that do, right? I'm with you in hoping that doesn't become standard for the SMP. I'm on the record that a tapering 5-link wouldn't look right and the Speedmaster bracelet just doesn't match the aesthetic. I really like how the Forstner flat link and 1450 bracelet looks on it. As far as size, who knows. Maybe some marginal changes, but is it enough to make a real difference?
