Any Omega fans NOT interested in the Speedmaster? If so, why?

My personal favorite was for a watch that was a special “preproduction” built in Italy from spare parts but sold before the Watch was released with a later serial number and missing LE engraving when the guy disproved his own point but failed to see it or something equally insane and circular. It was truly insane.

Is that what he was trying to do? He seemed to be arguing in circles so long I lost interest.

I dare you Speedmaster lovers - take a autism test and post your results here...I bet no less than 6 of 10 will get test result telling them they've got a hint of ASD - cause you cannot be so hung up in something so boring and dull looking and be without such traits. Prove me wrong !

I love Omega watches and would spend a lot of time discussing them in this fine forum if it were not for all the Speedmaster talk, it's like being in a nice living room with lots of good people - and then there is a turd in the middle of the floor everyone is talking about. All you wish for is that they would take this object to a chambre séparée and talk about it there. But they don't.

It appears that the turd in the middle of the floor just posted here as the user Gstp...

Well, the thread title did ask for Omega collectors who have no interest in the Speedmaster. That seems to be asking for negative opinions.

Now, the comments about autism.... well, that's going a bit too far. Bald jokes? Fire away. Height jokes? Have at it! Handicapped humor just isn't humorous to many people.

EDIT: I'm the resident dickhead here. 😁

And as an Omega collector I answered in good faith, but the echo-chamber behaviour is of course very strong so the flaking was expected.

As for the ASD - let me be clear -I did NOT joke about ASD/HFA or handicapped people in any way. No where in my writings have I done so. or in any way meant to do that. Anyone knowing me personally would laugh at the thought.

As for the "turd" remark I was willing to modify it, but now I've called that, and other things myself, so I lost my motivation.

But - this one model - with all it's variations and models take a lot of room in the Omega sub forum. It's very hard not to read about it even if you don't want to.

Why can't this model have a dedicated sub-forum? Would clean up the Omega forums and for you guys who love the Speedmaster it would be heavenly to have all threads and posts about this special love of yours in one place. Wouldn't it ?

And the mods could ban me from that sub forum for life! No problem.

I’m not a Speedmaster fan. I just think there’s too much going on on the dial.

I'm an Omega fan and I'm not bothered about Speedmasters. I do like chronographs and I'd add a Speedy to my collection if they were a grand or so, but the current astronomical (no pun intended) prices for what's not actually a luxury watch are just too much for me. And let's not even mention Rancheros and Railmasters, oops I just have. So I'll stick with my Breitling and Leuba chronos. And of course Seamasters, Geneves and Constellations.

I kinda like him, sorta. 😉 He shares a similar view with me on a certain large subsect of Omega collectors. 😜 And maybe he's on to something about mandatory testing for those members. ::stirthepot::

PEACE guys!

.... or it's the toaster for you! (Yes, I was a fan of that briefly lived show.)

I used to dislike all chronos. And then I bought a Moonwatch.......

And dislike them even more so you sold it? 😁 ::stirthepot::

Why would they ban you from anything when you can simply avoid any threads that have the word "Speedmaster" in it...

Hmmmm, I know somebody that should do the same. 😗 😜 Problem is, once there's a Speedmaster infestation, you can't avoid them. 😵‍💫

To try to answer the original question, I don't really have a thing for Speedies. If I were have the space watch of my choice it would be an Accutron Astronaut on a Kreisler coffin link bracelet, if I could have the Omega of my choice it would be a Centenary.

You're preaching to the choir. Back when I had superpowers, I requested a dedicated Speedmaster forum. It didn't happen.

I'd love it as well, and would join you in banishment from that particular subforum. However, there's no way you could contain them that easily.

Then I bought one more and then I realized the mesmerizing power of the watch....

You do realise that 'Seamaster' appears just as frequently in that screengrab don't you? Should we moan about all the Walter Mitty divers boring the rest of us with their aquatic timing issues and insist they push off to a sub forum?

I propose a steel cage match!

Or maybe an Omegadome showdown - two men enter, one man leaves!

You have to make your own thread ; "any Omega fans not interested in Seamasters, if so why" to discuss that. The topic here is Speedmasters
