I am thinking about ordering a P300 with the 3 off-road options, and I was wondering if there are any owners here and their thoughts. (photo is the color scheme I am thinking about)

    Thanks!

I love the previous body style. Not so much the new one. Sorry I can’t comment from an ownership perspective—I’m a land cruiser man.

Those are great! It’s basically impossible to get one of those at sticker in my area they are putting 10-15k on top of msrp.

I have the ability to wait 6-8 months and LR is not putting anything else on top. I drive only a few miles a year and I want something fun but need something a bit upscalish for work. I figure it’s my last ice car and I want something I’ll like for 10-20 plus years if possible. My current car just has a bit too many miles and has great resale right now as it’s an enthusiasts car. If I start putting miles on a car I’ll get a plug-in until then I want something fun for the few miles i drive a year, and something that looks more expensive then it really is. Make sense?

believe it or not it’s one of the cheaper options for a fun uoscale car. The sale of my current car which I’ve had since 2006 will fund a surprising amount of the car I buy this year. In the years I’ve owned it I’ve put 80k miles on it and lost less then 1/2 of what I originally paid for it.

Definitely a good time to sell your current car and move up. One of the things that prompted me.

I have an inside connection for the prime. But some blogs say you can get one at msrp from the East Coast.

Defender is beautiful no doubt. A lot can happen in 10 years. There should be some stellar EVs soon. The torque on an EV is a lot of fun to drive.

Good luck with the hunt. Lots to ponder.

I wanted to like the new Defenders a lot more than I do.
I've seen a few around town with a non-factory wheel/tire combo and it helped.
But overall the car is just meh. I still like the idea of them but....
I'd honestly rather have a new Bronco and some cash left over lol!

I thought about the Bronco… but with dealer markups on them and on any ones ordered it’s effectively the same price.

I’m 6’4 and live in an apt with no charging infrastructure.

Yeah it is crazy what they are going for.
As far as I know, around me, dealers WANT you to order one - and there is no markup.
My father in law is thinking about getting one for his wife but wasn't too sure.
The dealership pretty much said order it how you want it and if she does not like it/want it, they will take it back because they will be able to mark it up lol.

They are trying to throw 10k on top of pre orders that where delivered last week when the buyer did not get a signed agreement at the time of the order right now. I've talked to the 4 local Ford dealers and they are all asking for money on top even with an order. Depending on spec its 10-20k on top for a 4 door.

Jeez. It is just pure crazy right now.
I have a 2015 (MK7) VW GTI that I've had since new. I was planning on replacing it at the end of 2021 or beginning of this year but I've totally tabled that.
I really just wanted to get the MK8 that has just started hitting dealers. I REALLY wanted to get an R, but they are still a few months behind.
Anyway, I was talking to a local dealer who got a couple of MK8 GTI's in and they had already both sold with a $10k markup.
A $10K FREAKIN' MARKUP ON A GTI!!!!!! Depending on trim level...that could potentially be almost DOUBLE what I paid for my base model back in '15.

The entire market is crazy right now, except for Land Rover/Jag and Mazda... People for some reason have no clue that there is this amazing brand called Mazda that has some great cars at great prices.

Just don’t buy a car right now. Anything worth owning is too expensive.

Those are great.. I just need to drive 65mph for the majority of my driving. Don't get me wrong they are so much fun to drive... I'd pass on a series 1 though... give me a series IIa ;)

+1 for Mazda. I've been driving my 2013 Mazda 3 from new and (tempting fate) I've had nothing major go wrong. I intend driving it until it it crumbles to dust or the UK government forces me to get rid of it (I fully expect diesel to be reclassified as "Devil's urine" sometime soon).

One thing I did recently was downsize the factory alloys from 18 to 16 inches. The increase in ride comfort from the extra 2 inches of sidewall on the new tyres makes me wish I'd done it years ago IMG_20191130_092510.jpg

    65 mph?
    That’s about 10000 rpm in a S1 :D

In either case, vintage is always best ;)
