Another Female Spring Bar Post...

I've been on a months long search for female spring bars to fit my 1945 Universal with zero luck. I've looked all over the web for the right size, local shops and phoned every friend possible. If there is anyone in the community that has some on hand, knows of a local shop in their neighborhood or a friend, please let me know.

Details: 17mm lug to lug, 15mm pin to pin and 1mm pin. Basically, it's been tough to find the 1mm or larger opening and a pin that will depress a hair below 15mm.

Thank you in advance. I've been waiting so long to wear this watch and it's driving me nuts.

Why don't you simply sand/grind down the pins slightly, as it appears that .95mm openings are not difficult to obtain?

PM sent.

(it's hard these days to find a set where the ends are the same diameter as the middle, all the more recent versions tend to taper down to smaller diameter on the ends as per the above example).

Vintage examples, as per below, are the same diameter across the full width.

That is going to be the last option for me, but on the list for sure! Trying to keep it as-is, if possible. Thanks for the note!

A word of caution, have pins in hand and attempt to fit each lug independently prior to any sanding/grinding.

Tolerances in manufacturing then and now can happen......I had to go custom made strap (non-female) one time because both lug widths were different by 0.5-0.8mm with no indication of any lug damage.

post pix when you can,

Happy to help, it was easy !

One thing I love about this case is I get the visual illusion that the lugs actually continue all the way through the strap at the full lug thickness. Even though I know it doesn't, my brain still say it does. Very cool case, and a Jeanneret 🥰

I agree! I haven't been able to take it off since getting the bars. It's the most interesting case in my collection!
