Hello all, I’m having trouble with my 1450 bracelet and would like your advice on what to do.

The spring bar that attaches the bracelet link to the clasp microadjust holes broke and I can’t find the replacement. Omega said the part is discontinued and sent me the “replacement” which is 1.3 mm. The bar (and other 1.3 mm bars) goes in almost halfway from one side of the link, but not at all from the other side. The fact that 1.3 can go in halfway from one side tells me that the link itself may be damaged on one side. I examined it and don’t see anything obvious though.

1.2 mm bars from Esslinger fit fine. The broken original one that came with the bracelet fits fine still too, which suggests the original was smaller than 1.3. But then why does Omega recommend the 1.3? I’m worried that a bar that’s too small (1.2) will wiggle too much and fail as a result.

Here are all my options, as far as I can tell.

    1. Take it to Swatch service center. Not sure what they’ll do since I doubt they still have this specific link available.

    2. Take it to a trusted local jeweler to “clean out” the groove in the link so the 1.3 mm link will fit.

    3. Run a 1.3 mm drill bit through it myself

    4. See if Uncle Seiko will sell the equivalent link or just buy his bracelet and use the equivalent link, assuming it is compatible

    5. Just use a 1.2 mm spring bar

    See some photos. Your thoughts?

Here are a couple other photos. See the link enters one side further than the other
