Felicity Jones looked cute in Rogue One. Leia was a bit of a childhood crush in the 70s/80s.

Wait, you actually know I played Queen Amidala in the Star Wars prequels? Who told you?
Was this your Aussie Priscilla moment, @dsio ? Did you actually sing Super Trouper or did you play safe and rely on playback?😜😁

Bingo.

I love being right.
just having fun stirring things up ::stirthepot::::stirthepot:: but I don't think you are necessary right-- or wrong. We are all just conjecturing and speculating here as to why a person was drawn to Silver Snoopy. I do think you make reasonable and legitimate argument.

you must really like Snoppy to spend $6000 USD on it, its like there was another reason...

Getting there but I am still not convinced....

There it is!

I buy Omega watches because I simply really like Omega watches. I buy diver watches, because I really like diver watches. I buy chrono esp. Speedy because I really like how they look in general. We all here spent thousands of dollars for anachronistic devices that serve a function that can be done through something that cost less than $10. We must all really like watches to spend thousands and thousands of dollars. what other reason is there?

I bought it because I like the watch. A number of factors play into it, but mostly aesthetics. I am not into movements, history, etc. I buy watches based on how they look on my wrist and the feeling they give me. It is as simple as that. These are luxury goods and a lot has to with the emotion of want. Certainly, getting a good/reasonable value for my money is important but certainly not the primary driver of my decision to purchase. I did get caught up with the exclusivity aspect of the watch so when I was offered, I jumped at the opportunity.

I like ST LE first and foremost because of how it looks. I think I am even more drawn to it because it is hard to get-- I certainly do enjoy the chase. I am only on the waitlist so hoping for people to drop off as actual money is requested by Omega.

Except, 1 person who already collects watches does not prove a huge market exists. We all said that a few did go to Snoopy collectors, the point is they are not the ones driving the price up on that watch. Which you continue to ignore... Its like the Snoopy is trending just like some of the other LE's that do not have Snoopy on them... Who is driving the price of those up? Invisible Man collectors?

Have you seen some of these hardcore Disney and Peanuts fans? Scary stuff, and they do it quietly, it's on the down-low, they don't want to draw attention with that association, it's all hush-hush.

Just like Barry Manilow.

Again you fail to address the main point....

Can we talk about something where opinions are more likely to be swayed?

Like abortion or politics?

I find adults whom acquire massive doll collections a bit creepy. However, adults whom collect massive watch ensembles inspiring. Does that make me a glass house?

*This thread is all over the place. Ergo, I figured a perfect fit for my daily conundrum*

not such a bad assumption, still doesn't explain why an adult, intelligent being would choose Bushido as his nick though 😀

If they're into plush for $20Kspending $6K on a watch is chump change. I mean, puppy chow.

Where is the snoopy LE.... Where can you get one for $6K
Is this like a where's Waldo/Wally

Welcome! How about the new Heuer Autavia? Seems to check all of the boxes. Reverse Panda, well under budget, and it's damn sexy to boot...

Thos look really nice indeed, what's the MSRP of this model?

If not for the ST speedy, I would have ordered the new atuavia. But I was told him that allocation will be low and hence demand may not be easily satisfied. Ie. Fetching a premium.

Okay, we're scraping the bottom of the barrel of Speedy Tuesday alternatives now. We don't need to see any more nuked and corroded panda's.

The definitive answer is: Just get a Speedy Tuesday. There will be plenty of them available. There are 2,012 reservations but $0 spent. You'll either have to pay a $1K premium to profiteers on release day or wait a few months and get them at MSRP or below from bored owners. It's the same ol' Speedmaster with a few white dots. When the classic internet frenzy effect wears off, it's just another Speedmaster owned by people who already own Speedmasters.
