In another thread recently the topic of trying to get a "deal" came up and how the psychological game can get in the way of actually getting what we want. We have all lost a watch by $50 and thought- why did I not just pull the trigger and do it?!?!
It's taken me a while to get past this way of thinking, and I still fall prey to it on watches that would be a nice to have and not a must have. But when I see one that's on my list, checks all the boxes, and is within the range of sanity for price- even on the top end, I just buy it and it's done. I'm not going to quibble over nickles- we all blow far more money on useless shit in our daily lives.

While you may have overreacted initially, I give you credit for having re-assessed, and especially for having used the (criminally under-utilized) word "snookered" in your original post. 馃榿
I LOVE snooker! Here is the great Ronnie O'Sullivan in action (horological content: steel JLC Reverso).

Ronnie is one of the greats, if not the greatest. Saw him in fine form years ago at the Crucible. Though I always felt he'd have chalked up a few more titles if he'd been wearing Omegas.

Harold Worst gets my vote, even though snooker wasn't his game. 馃榿

Walter Lindrum
World champ from 1933 to retirement in 1950. Holds most of his 57 world records still to this day.
Had to change the rules to give others a shot he was that good

I miss playing snooker. One of my dad's best friends owned a snooker hall and I grew up playing the game. Sadly, I now live some distance from the nearest snooker table and can only get away to play a couple of times a year.
