If you are that worried, my advice would just be to send the buyer a cancellation request with apology and say you just noticed your item was damaged.
The buyer will have to accept, and you wont be charged anything.
Same here. It was understandably born of Covid but it continues to this day. If it’s still policy due to Covid I don’t know why they offer it. It’s not that much of an irritation to me as my area doesn’t get many porch pirates that I hear of but if they are asking you if you want signature and paying extra for it strikes me as a bit off.

The delivery driver just scribbles something in the signature box and when questioned Just answers “that’s what the person at the door wrote” and who is going to go through the trouble of proving otherwise? The delivery company? eBay? PayPal? I really doubt it.
