Advice for my first mechanical Omega

All,

It's time to start narrowing down my first mechanical Omega purchase. I already have a lovely f300hz Omega Constellation Chronometer from the early 1970s (sadly stuck in Thailand after it's repair).

Now I'm wanting to start my mechanical collection.

I've narrowed it down to:

Speedmaster Mk2 Chronometer (Racing dial)

Seamaster Pro 300m (black dial)

Globemaster Constellation with the yellow gold bezel and steel case.

Pics of all three watches included.

Thoughts?

I'll hopefully get to see all three in person at my local Omega boutique this Saturday.

*note, I accidentally posted this in the vintage thread first.

I think you can't go wrong with any of them. My choice would be the MKII 😀

The SMPc and the Globemaster are METAS certified master chronometers The MKII is not. If you want something that works well for both business and casual dress, the Globemaster would be my choice. It doesn’t photograph particularly well, but it’s gorgeous in person and the pie pan dial sets it apart from everything else.

Well, based on these responses I guess that you're going to have to get all three!

It’s am interesting journey, I found out over time and after quite a few purchases that I prefer robust thin divers. But it took probably 15 or 20 purchases to get there. So here my personal opinions and tastes:
SMP 300 - as perfect as a watch gets, as @Wetworks said, buy it on the bracelet and also get the rubber.
Speedy Mk II - way too busy. Nobody needs a chrono and if you really do use the dive bezel.
Globemaster - how often do you wear a tuxedo? 😀

If I could only choose one, I would pick the Seamaster 300. I think it is more versatile than he other 3.

Well I finally saw all three in store and like them all.

The Speedmaster Mk2 is rather thick, but that's to be expected with an automatic Chronograph.

The Globemaster in gold on steel looked amazing.

The Black SMP 300 also looked amazing.

The all-black MKII is boring IMHO; if it were the orange trim version it would be close. I'm not a huge fan of two-tone watches as I feel they age terribly as far as style, although the Globemaster is very well done.

TL;DR- SMP Diver still gets my vote.

Seamaster all the way. Then you can save up for the speedy. As others have stated, the Globe master will not likely age well whereas the other 2 will always be popular and easy to sell.

Actually, I was thinking the other direction. The Globemaster will likely get a redesign soonish, whereas a Speedmaster is always a Speedmaster, and the a Seamaster Professional doesn't change much (still prefer the 2254.50!).

Yes, I'd get the Orange "racing" Mk2, not the black/white.

How about the blue?

I'm just not a big fan of blue dial dress watches.

Silver/white/champaign/gold dials only please.
