This week I made a watch roll that does not look like all of the other watch rolls out there. It’s bigger, has solid brass buckles, more rivets than a bridge, and secures five watches like a straight jacket. I took me the better part of three days, including the drafts. Here are some pics. I may do a few things to perfect it, but football begins soon! So, maybe tomorrow.

There would be a nice sense of occasion when unrolling that 👍

That may be one of the most impressive watch rolls I have ever seen. And I have a PHD in watch rolls so I know what I’m talking about

My acrylic strap templates arrived on the weekend, and today my green ostrich did too. Should make a lovely strap for my Spaceview. Now to find the time 👎

Many years ago, when I was in retail jewellery, we carried Lalique crystal. One shipment to us was prepared for shipping, in France. The insulation material was all off cuts from a French leather goods factory. Particularly gloves. All the colours of the rainbow in the most beautiful, soft, kid leather you can imagine. Too bad we had no use for these very irregular scraps.

My first time in the leather shop in a while. Watch roll with the best leather I have ever worked with. So soft and brand new. Holds 4 watches. I made a similar one a few years ago and it works well. The snap in the center is there in case you have a larger watch. Fits better. I used my old machine for most of the stitching, except for a few spots that I did by hand. The machine is not as precise as hand stitching and does not allow for mistakes. You may spot a few in here!
I just want to share that my watch roll arrived and the quality and the feel of the leather is amazing and not to mention how perfectly it accommodates my watches. I can’t put it down and I carry it with me everywhere I go. Thanks again Steve.

First day retired and I turned on the radio and heard this. Decided I better get back to work. Then these items fell on my lap. An old sleeping bag holder - Canuck was spelled wrong- needed the handle re-attached. 3 minute job. And then I got these fancy red sole shoes to repair. I have the equipment so that took about 5 mins also (I learned to do shoe repair as a teenager). I have 2 belts to make and then it’s back to watch related stuff!

Unbelievable. If you make a leather tarp that covers a football field, I'm out...

Congratulations on your retirement. With all the additional time you will have I can’t wait to see more of your creativity. Enjoy

Do you sell those high heel shoes in men sizes? Asking for a friend.

He is diversifying at such a rate, that now with more time on his hands, he is likely to take up learning watch repairs!
