My first time in the leather shop in a while. Watch roll with the best leather I have ever worked with. So soft and brand new. Holds 4 watches. I made a similar one a few years ago and it works well. The snap in the center is there in case you have a larger watch. Fits better. I used my old machine for most of the stitching, except for a few spots that I did by hand. The machine is not as precise as hand stitching and does not allow for mistakes. You may spot a few in here!
I’ve shown this prior but it’s been a while this was made by the fine people @Duracuir1 fine leather goods and it has been used daily since I received it from @Duracuir1 fine leather goods fine shipping team. I can only imagine how nice a watch roll would be. It really comes in handy and it’s a good little travel case for me as I’m so absent minded I really shouldn’t travel with too many watches anyway.
Good Day OF family. I don’t want to brag but I do want to share that I am so fortunate to be the proud owner of the watch roll that was created by our very own leather master “Steve”, I’m so appreciative of his talent and generosity and for adding the personal touch to the watch roll.
This is my wife’s late father’s watch (likely his Canadian Legion watch, if any military watch pros have any idea please let me know ). She bought this red strap for it, as it goes well with the maple leaves on the dial. I was at my local leather shop on the weekend and they had a special order of ostrich legs on sale. I have some acrylic watch strap templates inbound, and thought that making her an alternate watch strap would be a great first project for the templates. Won’t this blue pull out those daggers and the crown nicely
If you have any friends who are into making leather goods or aspiring to do so do them a favor and bring your @Duracuir1 fine leather good product to them to check out. A friend of mine is trying to break into leather making (he makes some horrible things but he’s just starting I’d probably do worse) I brought my watch pouch when I had dinner with his family a while back to show him he got very silent and studied it for twenty minutes. I think it actually helped him out a bit.
Steve, I know this is a watch forum, but if you have ever made a custom leather guitar strap, please show it to us! By the way, I read through this entire thread and could have “liked” every submission. Great stuff!
Pete, I have made several guitar straps. One notably was sold at auction to benefit military personnel who suffer from PTSD. Here are some photos of my early work, circa 2014 or 2015. PM me for a guitar strap.
