Does this one seem legit and what period would it be? It's a design I've rarely seen.

Any recommendations about where to search for or source an 18k 18mm rose gold buckle? Thanks in advance.
As @SOG53 already stated 18k buckles in any size are uncommon, rose gold even more uncommon and in 18mm at least vintage one I dont even know if they exist at all?

I would settle for a plated buckle in 16mm, what watch is it for? Do you even need 18mm that would mean a 20mm or bigger lug width?

"Set up EB search. You need 200 meaningful posts here before you can set up WTB post- but you can certainly follow the parts and accessories thread here and DM a seller and buy there as well. 18K much rarer than gold plated- I would include that in search as well. Heres an example of rose gold plated (16mm) looks ok with 18K watch to me."

What is the exact name of the Watch parts and accessories thread? I cannot find it in a search. TIA

the lug width is 20mm on the two watches I have with a need for the buckle size 18mm. The burgundy OMEGA strap only currently comes in 20mm x 18mm, which are the straps I have to match to two 18k 18mm yellow gold buckles. Thanks for any insight on finding one outside of the Watch Accessories thread here on OF or OMEGA's parts site. TIA

Okey I got you, what watch is it for? If its not a vintage piece I would not bother with a vintage buckle, and if it is a vintage one its probably way cheaper to buy a 20-16mm strap from another manufacturer than Omega if they dont provide burgundy straps in smaller sizes.

I have two watches needing an 18mm rose gold buckle: both are 1949s, one is a rose gold 37.5mm 30T SC RG and one is a 37mm rose gold Tresor. I probably should have bought non OMEGA 18x16 as hejsam stated above. I rechecked and the straps are 18x18 not 20x18, but still leaves the problem on the buckle size. OMEGA does not have any size other than 18x18 BURGUNDY color straps. Or I guess I should settle for a rose gold plated buckle for each if those can be found.

I think it is very unclear if Omega watches below a "named" model level (Constellation, Seamaster, etc.) ever had solid gold buckles when new. I'm not sure about Tresor models, as these were not sold in all markets.

Back in the late 1940's, I'm not sure they even had the classic buckles with the logo on top. The ones I've seen generally were gold plated with "Omega" engraved on the back. Mind you, most of these were for US only models, so those buckles were likely made here in the US.

In any case, 18mm (inside measurement) buckles would have been rare back then. Most OEM watch straps were tapered. 18mmX16mm was a standard replacement size, but I've seen OEM straps (including Omega) as tapered as 18mmX13mm.

Bottom line is that there is not uniformity on the straps or buckles used on these older Omega watches. What was correct in one market, may not be correct for others.

Most enlightening. Thank you. If I read your post correctly I should focus on either gold plated or rose gold colored steel 18mm buckles with the correct OMEGA emblem on the top. Correct? TIA

All of these are going to be rose gold plated. Those are very hard to find also. Best bet (and I did this) is to buy a vintage yellow gold plated buckle and find a jeweler to replace it in rose gold. Had the crown done at the same time.

Hi Fellow Omega Expert,,
May i ask for your opinion on whether this buckle is original? If yes, is it from the 70's?

Agree w @gatorcpa logo is iffy, ACIERINOX has no space between words, and SWISS font not good for SS
Also has skinny non vintage springbar, I like to see the big fat ones for original vintage
