Would anyone care to make an educated guess as to (approximately) when the transition to these modern MG style buckles was made? I've been browsing old catalogues but they hardly ever show buckles clearly enough.
@mondodec / Desmond's Constellation blog essay on buckles: http://users.tpg.com.au/mondodec//Omega_Constellation_Accessories_Part_1.pdf would put the transitional period to the late 60s/early 70s.
Just out of curiosity is the 18mm buckle really that rare? I have one marked with the MG logo in the bottom of my watch box and I really can't imagine me being in possession of something "rare"

If it is an old one yes it is very rare. But as we say on OF : pictures or it didn't happen !
