Eterna Automatic on gray crocodile. Is it a faux pas to only have a 12k buckle when the watch is 18k?
To your question - no idea.
About your strap - I'll let the court pass judgment.
But your watch - ah, superb! 🥰

Sorry Sir, we do not allow counterfeit watches on OF. Mods, go ahead delete his post.

Keep in mind @bradurani is playing a character in this thread, nothing should be taken personally or seriously. I'm pretty sure he is not that much of a pretentious pr*ck in real life.👍

The title told me exactly what I was going to get. Did not disappoint. For me, the ultimate dress watch strap is croc flank. That irregular pattern of lines gives me warm fuzzies. Looking to make a glossy black one part of my collection. I have been looking at a couple (Hirsch, Waldans, etc.) but I would appreciate any recommendations for reliable seller of good quality.

You've matched the color well (in the first shot) and shown some much appreciated restraint with a simple, solid color strap. Still, it just looks like you're trying too hard. The strap is wearing the watch.

What size do you need? I have half a dozen NOS Hirsch ones in 20mm (perhaps 18mm too off the top of my head). I wouldn’t mind selling one.

Beautiful watch : can we have a side picture of the lugs ?
I believe we can forget you for not matching the gold % of the case and buckle… 😉
Edit : Dibs please

Your sweat will lend its odor to that strap for eternity
Well, I tried again without the canvas strap as you suggested, but the watch didn't stay on my wrist very well without it. Sorry if I made another faux paux. Please advise.

OOH. Frankly, I am not sure. Don't know if I currently have the watch in my possession that I would like to put that strap on. But I'll DM, I'd love to see what you got.

You had me mostly nodding along until you said no ostrich, which I disagree with 😁. So I definitely agree that this guide is as advertised: snobby, pretentious, and old fashioned.

Today's pairing

A strap for a watch should be like a frame and mat for a picture. An accent that highlights the watch, not hide it. But you don't need neutral colors and textures to accomplish that goal.
Nice and I also disagree with the ostrich comment.

Here's another one that I think is slightly controversial: Classic black rubber "Tropic" strap on a 36 mm vintage Certina DS.

In the words of James may “as you can imagine, I have done this right”

my JLC reverso on alligator, seamaster on alligator, Rolex on its original bracelet because it’s a sports/tool watch.

Come to think of it, shouldn't bracelets be the sole territory of dress watches? They're stiffer, heavier, more likely to malfunction, and get scratched more easily than any other type of strap, seems a bad match with diving or any other sport!

@bradurani , every good turn needs a response and because you gave me A- here's something for you....
Obviously Omega are ignorant of the strap rules for their own Speedmaster, so 2 business opportunities are presented here for you:
(1) Infuse their people with your indubitable talent for style by offering to run training courses. These will undoubtedly be successful and that will naturally lead to the opportunity for you to
(2) collab with Omega to develop your very own Omega X Bradurani strap collection.
I'm certain the good people of OF will support you.
