Any creative suggestions on how to “mock up” a strap?

Let’s say you have a watch head, and you have a bunch of different straps you’d like to try, in order to determine which looks best. But, you don’t want to actually put each one on via the spring bars. Reason? My technique is probably lacking, as the straps go on effortlessly, but in taking them off, I tend to bugger up the leather area near the lugs.

So given my skills are unlikely to improve in the short run, any ideas on how to temporarily affix the strap to the watch to see if I like it? I was thinking about some kind of tape on the back of the lugs and strap, but most would likely affect the leather upon removal. Any ideas appreciated.

You place the strap in the slot in the front of the machine, right side up (only the buckle end is needed). Then you place the watch head on the accompanying Viziotech silicone strap and hold your wrist under the input module (black box in front). The combined mouth and ear piece is for giving commands about colour and texture to the AI inside the machine. Then you look thru the eye pieces on top of the input module and see how your watch looks with your chosen strap. Simple!

Just convert your straps to quick release. And hope the pins you use to pull the end pivots in don’t break off, like happened to me recently. I had to destroy the strap to remove it.
