Following on with this initiative, I've placed it in Open Discussion as it no longer relates to vintage Omegas.
(and I don't want anybody to get confused and think they're getting one of my vintage omegas!)

😁

@nzshadow kicked it off here and @p4ul scored. His penalty (as we seem to be in football talk) was to relinquish a watch and I was happy to catch that one.

So now it's my turn.

The Prize

The item I'm putting up is something I was going to use as a project. Due to its unusual circular shape, the intention was to mount it in a wooden plinth and use it as a desk ornament/clock.

However!

Being an automatic, it would need to be rotated to wind it, or wound manually each day or so. The technicalities of constructing, what in essence would be a wooden watch winder, eluded me, especially trying to figure out how to stop rotation at precisely the right moment, so it went back into the drawer.

Behold, a Longines Automatic ★★★★★ Admiral Day Date with quickset date, stainless steel case with 14K GF bezel.

The lug spacing is 17mm and would probably suit a generic bracelet or strap.

Entry Rules

Anyone can enter.
To enter, send me a PM with title "QUARANTINE", message "your ΩF user name".
Nothing else.

How it will work

I'll put all user names into a spreadsheet in the order received (Column A) and assign a sequential number to each name (Column B). I'll then use RAND() function based on the number of entries to select a winner.

The competition opens as soon as you see this post.
The competition closes at 23:59 Australian Eastern Standard Time (UTC +10) on Thursday May 14 2020.

The winner will be announced here on Friday May 15 2020 after I've had shower, breakfast, coffee etc.

Nice one, Jim.

Pulling a number out of a hat is SO old school!

Can't see any PM from you, but Ill bend the rules JUST THIS ONCE!

PS: You'd better hope we get more than 122 entries or you won't get a jersey.

Seeing that this magnificent offer isn't getting much traction, I may have to up the ante.

Stay tuned.

The Prize (Longines Admiral head only) is no longer First Prize. It will now be Second Prize.

The GRAND PRIX will now be something else, to be fully revealed at 12:00 Hours AEST 14 May 2020.

There will now be two draws,

The first draw being for the Longines and will include all persons who have entered IAW the rules.

The second drawer will be for the GRAND PRIX and will include all persons who have entered IAW the rules.
(including the winner of the Longines)

Fantastic @JimInOz.

So how will the raffle continue onwards? Will the both the second prize and Grand Prix winner continue the raffle by putting something in afterwards thus making it two raffles. Or will it only be the Grand Prix winner?

I think it should be entirely up to the winner/s.

Should they choose to put up a barn find 1963 Speedmaster, then let it be so.

If, on the other hand, they a submit paper print of an Invicta coloured in by their five year old kid, then again, let it be so.

The main thing is absolute obedience and unswerving adherence to the rules.

The other thing is......................there are no rules.

However........................while there are no rules, there is THE CATCH!

The Catch: if you are the winner of this watch, you must, in turn, give something watch-related away... and we keep it going for as long as we can.

Excellent. No rules.... except for both winners having to put something up. Regardless of speedy or crayon art.

Rules be damned. The catch, on the other hand, must be respected.

Let the watch related tomfoolery continue.

Well it's going to be good odds for the contenders at the moment.
We have about 28 members who have sent me a PM, so that's a 1 in 28 chance.
A bit better than Lotto!

A little enticement to round Monday off?

Here you go:

Rules are like badges. We don’t need no stinking rules.
