So an update on my end. The good news is I took this into the boutique and they were able to get the watch returned to me within 4 weeks. However, they returned the watch with just a receipt showing it was given maintenance (the diagnostic indicated the movement wasn’t performing correctly). No replaced parts in a bag or anything. Is this normal? Should I expect that they fixed the brushing issue? It was obviously the same problem others have been having.

Depending on the service center, it's not unusual that parts are not returned when the work is done under warranty.

You should always get them back for a paid service, but warranty is hit and miss.

Or they are watching this thread and there are enough pictures of premature wear that they do not want more shown........

And no i am not paranoid, but i do see dead people.

Ive had mine since September and don't think I have this issue but not sure. If I wind the watch fully and run the chronograph non stop and leave it alone I get over 50 hours before it stops. Ive done this 3-4 times. If I fully wind the watch everyday and start and stop the Chrono it never has an issue. On rare occasions about 20-30 hours or more into the power reserve I have gotten it to stop the entire watch by starting the chronograph. This is very rare and only happened when I started it not while it was running. Do I have this issue? thanks

thanks

I have done the same as you and the only thing I’ve noticed is if I have a low power reserve and run the chronograph is will stop but I have read that’s because your watch needs a certain amount of power reserve to activate the chronograph. Anyway, I bought mine in august and from what I’ve noticed is if you’ve used the chronograph a bunch and haven’t found the issue within a few months of ownership then there isn’t an issue. Seems like they restocked with the fixed ones early on last summer like June from what I’ve heard. So hopefully it means we are in the clear.

I had dropped myself speedy off 4 weeks ago at an OB in Paris. Amazingly I was back in Paris yesterday and my last meeting was at a hotel across the road from the OB in question. I hadn't had any news regarding my watch so was planning to pop in but checked my email and they had just sent me a message saying my watch was ready for pick up!

I had asked them not to polish it but it looks like they have which is a major gripe but I'm not sure I can do anything about it.

They certainly went to town on the movement. Fitted a new crystal, crown and handset, I have no idea why. Now I'll have to smash the watch into a load of things all over again to get the used look I like!

The redesigned bushing is silver coloured.

interestingly my watch also came back looking like it had been given a thorough cleaning and possibly replaced pushers, although I can’t tell since I didn’t get any parts.

In addition to having the chrono problem detailed in this thread, my 3861 had a misaligned chrono hour and second hand. Dropped it off at the Swatch service center in LA on December 29th. The online portal gave an estimated completion date of February 6th, but then on February 2nd it changed to February 25th, which was frustrating. Then yesterday I get a call from the Seattle service center, who said that they had the watch and it was ready to ship back to me… said LA sent it to them because they (Seattle) “could get it done faster”. Watch should arrive on Monday and I’ll report back with the outcome. Fingers crossed!

So I went back to the boutique, and they exchanged my watch for a brand new one that they said was the newest watch they can get a hold of. I'm hoping that this watch was made after July 2021, and doesn't have the issue my old one did. I guess only time will tell.

How do you tell the manufactured date? What serial numbers are affected? From my untrained eye, it looks like mine has the silver colored bushing.
Thanks.

Unless you have taken the watch partially apart, I’m not sure you could see the bushing.

Only Omega knows what watches have the old or new bushings.

Ok, thanks. Is there anyway to tell the month it was manufactured from the serial number?

Just received my 3861 back from the service center. We’ll see if the issue is fixed, but my chrono seconds hand is still misaligned slightly to the left. Very frustrating to find this after waiting 2 months for the service.

I just picked up my watch yesterday (after a 4 month wait) and it also came back with a misaligned hand -- the hand on the hours sub dial is slightly off center to the right. I don't know if my heart can take another multi-month service trip.

Is the hour hand sub-dial mis-aligned when the chronograph is reset? it looks to me to be normal since you’re running the chronograph.

Mine also had this same misalignment prior to sending it in for the chronograph stopping issue (see pics here), as well as the chrono seconds being slightly misaligned to the left of 12. They fixed the chrono hours but the seconds remain misaligned. Really disappointed in their quality control... for the amount of money that these watches cost, it should be perfect.

And yeah I feel the same about sending it back... the service has a two year warranty so I think I'm just going to deal with it until that time is almost up and then send it back in. Such a shame because it puts a damper on my enjoyment of an otherwise perfect watch.

Yes, same with reset. Ran the chronograph for just a few seconds in the original photo so you can see the misalignment better.

Got it.
