·Hi guys, just bought one of my dream watches after months or even years of battling in my head to decide if was the correct one.
Finally 2 weeks ago I bought a new 2025 speedy 3965 sapphire sandwich, second hand from a reputable German dealer with whom I have purchased before. The warranty card is dated January 2025.
Since I bought it i have been so happy to choose it and regretting all the time i spend deciding. I been using it every day since arrived, i usually place the chrono hands at 6pm so it allow me to see the amazing omega chrome logo.
I barely use the chronograph only maybe a few times just to see how it works for a minute and then forget about it for days, until yesterday that i was thinking that would be cool to see the chrono seconds hand moving at the same time than the seconds subdial.
I didn't check my watch for almost two hours but when I looked the watch it was fully stopped with the chrono seconds hand in the 58sec position, then I stopped the chrono and seconds subdial came back to life, I had had a similar experiences with another chrono valojoux 7750 that used to have similar behavior when the charge was low.
So this time i fully wind it (until the point I felt resistance on the crown and stopped), the watch run for 8 hours and a half and then stopped, see the picture attached.
At that moment i freak out and started to investigate what could be the issue, and I found all the threads related to the pre-2021 3861 chrono problems that were very similar to the issue I'm having, but being my speedy a post 2023 model (with the adjustable clasp) i would be very surprised that omega wouldn't have fixed the issue by now.
Another thing that i learned in this forum is that i should not stop winding the watch at moment of first felt resistance and should keep winding until full stop of the crown.
So i tried again, this time fully winded the watch and at this time it's been a little of over 9 hours and the chrono is still running. Will keep this thing going an will provide and update later.
But my question to you guys, is about the amplitude, i placed the watch on my timegrapher and was surprised to see that the amplitude oscillates from 356 degress , then goes down to 234, then goes back to 350, goes down again up to 141, this in intervals of 3-5 minutes that the watch keep good readings. It stabilize between ~325 to 350 degrees between 20-30 min and the goes down again.
Any of you have and explanation for this, I'm a newbie in watchmaking and want to understand if this is a normal behavior or could be this related to the stoped chrono issue. Any advise will be appreciated.
