I am hoping this design makes a return without the date!
I’d buy this instantly. Mad I missed out on the watch co builds a few years back.

I have one of the Omega Natos too. It is extremely nice, I concur, but I find it wears too bulky...
I thought about cutting the additional segment that goes under the watch, which is essentially useless. But I can't bring myself to doing that to a 150 euros strap (and lose the "Omega" logo in the process)...
That's why I prefer "single pass" straps, like the C&B Chevron.

If they're able to reduce the height by even 2mm and shorten the lug stance, this could be a perfect NATO watch.

I for one actually love the bulkiness of the watch. Height of the case and all that, it has never bothered me tbh. Looks and feels fantastic either way everytime I wear it.

It’s the first watch I actually bought after seeing someone wearing it on holiday. I didn’t even try it on! I read that it’s long lugs can make it uncomfortable on the bracelet, so I found one watch only with Omega Bond nato. I find it really comfortable on every nato, including this ultra-thick Zulu style. I’m now thinking of buying an OEM black leather to wear as a semi-dress watch. To me it’s a perfect modern 3 hander, understated with that lovely dial.

I do keep getting drawn to the titanium version, maybe an update will offer some deals on old stock.

Ugh—this, 100x’s this! I suspect this was Omega’s aim or inspiration when they came out with the planet ocean. Put it in a 39mm case with an 88XX movement, no applied indices, aluminum bezel at around $4K and it would probably outsell every Seamaster. Omega wouldn’t need to worry about gray market or discounts because they would sell so fast...a man can dream, I suppose.

It's Omega's most iconic diver design. They already reused it before the Planet Ocean range in the 2254.50.00. I'm also hoping it will come back.

I would buy this if they removed the faux patina.
Honestly speaking, the faux patina isn't as bad in person as it is in the publicity photos from Omega. Check one out in the boutique and you'll see what I mean.

ZnS-based lume is typically green/yellow when new. Radium lume did end up turning more of a carrot-like color, but even then it's not as "faux" as most might think. The watches these were based on never had pure white lume.

That said, it's just another color. It doesn't really make sense why some hate it so, so much.

Exactly. There are photoshopped pictures on which the lume is made to look white and it absolutely destroys this watch's appeal. While Omega overdid it on the Trilogy pieces and the new Bond imo, the much lighter sand colored lume on the 300MCA looks great.

Me too I only discovered the hate for this colour once I started looking at watch forums. Before then I just thought it was beige/peach and it distinguished the brown and other elements on the dial more.

But apparently to some the colour is a crime against humanity. Which I don't get, perhaps I'm just too green when it comes to these things.

I actually like the beige lume. It is part of the design of the vintage inspired watch. I like how it highlights the stark white seconds hand.

I never saw it as "fake patina", like pretending to be something is not. The watch is clearly modern. I see it just as a design element: a specific color for a specific visual effect.

It would certainly not stop me from buying a watch, now a protruding He valve, that's a different story...

Will take a look in person but lume coloring looks off to me in their pictures. Also, been searching for a 2254.50, which I think fits the balance of new vs. old nicely.

You can see here on mine, what faux patina? Lol

Compare it with the new Bond titanium watch... Now that one has a loud patina going about it.

Went into the AD in Cambridge this afternoon for a gander properly and test out all the long lugs / faux patina in person. Turns out they didn’t have one in and the nice assistant needed a picture from my phone to see what what watch I was actually talking about. However, they’ve ordered one in so I can try it on and she mentioned about the 6.6% price increase in September. She also said that we could negotiate a price if I was going to go through with the purchase. If it suits there’s a few things there tempting me into buying soonish rather than waiting for the update; they also offer 0% finance... 👎
