I only joined at the end of August, with a bit of interest in vintage speedies.

Purchases since then..
Moonwatch only book
Flightmatser only book
The Watch book
A Moon Watch Story book

Speedmaster MkII (just gone for a service)

Wife bought me the Flightmaster as a birthday gift

Dabbled with a Geneve Dynamic for a few weeks, too small but nice to see one in the flesh..

Missed out on a '68 transitional speedmaster , regretted it ever since as prices are now 50%+ over what i should have bought that example at

Pretty much forgetting the pre-moons now, will probably go for a ST1 or ST2 now, although a IWC Portofino 8 days is taking my eye today

oh shoot, since this post I seem to have added a Ploprof 600 and a ST1, and just ordered the latest MWO edition! I’m hoping I can keep the wallet closed in the next 2 weeks lol!

Technically purchased in 2019 and will arrive in 2020...

Always wanted a lava dial 😉 Will be interesting to see how this looks with a polished crystal and good photography.

Was wondering who snagged that!!! Great deal! Please post pics immediately when she arrives, I’m very curious to see what that beautiful dial looks like up close.

Bought a beater I'm comfortable wearing at work, and quite versatile with straps:

Lots of strong work!

Here is some of what I moved...

I’m curios to what brings you to move them on?

I’ve had my first Rolex recently - I plan on keeping it long term, I’m not sure I could buy/sell watches so often. You’ve got some amazing pieces there. I’m wondering (as a semi amateur) collector - how do you come to the conclusion of selling pieces?
is it a tick box exercise of owning a variety? I like to buy something I really want, then build history with it. I couldn’t see myself as a ‘flipper’ (no offence intended)

What caused me to sell them? Easy...these did...

My collection is constantly evolving, and as better pieces come into the fold, the lower end get sold off to fund.

My rule of thumb is sell Omega to buy Rolex...only sell Rolex to buy better Rolex...sell matte dials to fund gilt dials.

Every watch I buy, it is critical to have 20%+ upside so when I eventually sell to fund a future piece, I’ll keep the cost basis as low as I can.

Hope that helps.

Every time you flash that 6542 I drool. Instantly. Hope to see a lot more of that beaut in 2020!

I sold a few (well, 9) watches; including a very nice Ed White that was the pinnacle of my collection but was too nice so I never wore it. Profit on any sales was fairly modest given that most of them have been around for a while and sale proceeds were well into single digits over what I paid for them.

I've acquired 4 Omegas (2 Speedies that I chose to buy not because I needed them, but because I could buy them...), a Seamaster Chronostop and a Geneve, all bought at auction. Most of the action has been in Seiko, including a few rare crackers that I think will be prised from my cold, dead, hands. I bought others that were a surprise but also a delight. My first Valjoux 72, a couple of panda dial watches and I traded a watch I got from @watchknut a couple of years back, for another that is probably worth 3x what I paid for the first one... and both parties in the trade were very happy about it.

Every year, I decide to downsize and stick to a few things, but it never quite works out that way...

Just one....but I feel lucky as my wife was able to purchase this as a surprise after I was silly and tried to negotiate price down too far and blew the sale (DEF my fault.........but a good lesson for me) :whipped:.

End result I get my dream vintage watch for my 35th that also happens to be a reference model on Speedmaster 101 ::rimshot::.

Man, I have 7 watches and feel like I barely rotate some of them. A couple of these watches I know I haven't worn in probably a month.

Probably need to consolidate and re-assess where I'm going with this.

That was me early 2019. Apparently reassessing meant buying more damn watches.

God damn it

Added a dozen watches, but this was the biggest surprise.

A christmas gift from a friend, who didn't know that i went to a few ADs to look for this unsuccessfully. It was completely unexpected & i think its only justsinking in...
