Yes Botas lol.

It was after three years of a sub par engine. Plus what 7 failures in 5 races? Yes it got better at the end of last year and that’s transferring over to TR.

Should alanso have made the comment at Suzuka 2 years back? No. Then again for the most part it was not McLaren dissing the engine but the commentators. Horner whined more then anyone else publicly about stuff... even publicly called Renault our for intentional bad engines at one point lol. Seriously Horner being bitchy while Best mag the number 2 team after how many years of boring races with Vettle leading up very lap?

Watching Vettle implode was fun. I’m Curious if Hamilton keeps it together with Bottas being strong and competing for the lead.

I'm not a big fan of Horner either. He whined and blamed Renault for not winning anymore in 2014 through current. He complained so much that Renault decided to give RB and Horner the middle finger and re-enter as a full works team.

Hi all, about to head off to P3 and qualifying. Its wet down here and it will be interesting to see if the rain evens things up. I think that Mercedes will be able to turn things up.

It’s the Sky feed on ESPN. NBC walked away from the coverage this year because Liberty’s terms were stupid. It sucks. No offense to Sky but in the States we like our own coverage team lol

ohhh didn't know that. I'm in Cali, but didn't have cable for the longest time so always watched sky streams online. wasn't big on NBCSN coverage because of the commercials.

While the NBCSN crew had its silliness, they did a good job presenting F1 to the US audience. The Sky coverage is very good, it just feels off after the years with NBC. Ultimately doesn’t matter for serious fans but when it comes to growing the US audience, it helps to have the presentation skewed to that audience as opposed to one filled with British humor and references that a lot of Americans don’t get. It also helps to explain the sport using dollars rather than euros or pounds, mph rather than kph, pounds rather than kilos etc.

Just back from the track. Cars are visibly faster. McLaren looked good an the track as did Hass, which could be a sleeper team this year.
Great battle between Mercedes and Ferrari. Dan is not happy with his penalty. Cant wait till tomorrow. Will be watching from turn.
Are any other OF members out here?

This will be the year of the "T-Bar" over the driver. Think we will see sponsor decals on them? Cars are still too quiet. I would like to go back to the simple normally aspirated MONSTERS of old. Ditch the KERS. Too complicated. If we have big engines and big tires, we might see some more passing. No replacement for displacement.

Excellent! I haven’t seen ‘No replacement for displacement’ for years... takes me back to my days following F1 around various European tracks

Quali mode on the Mercedes obviously still is insane.

Other than that, I think in the race the 3 top teams will be quite equally matched. Max less than a tenth of a second behind both the ferrari’s with a less than optimal lap.

Red bulls start on super softs where the rest start on ultras. Can’t wait, it will definitely be a great race 😀

I'm looking forward to the race! Curious to see if Ricciardo and Bottas can work their way forward.

On a sidenote, what is the cheapest way to watch the sky F1 stream online legally? (aside from the location you're watching from)
I don't mind getting a subscription, and happy to watch over a VPN. I've seen the Sky Now options, but was wondering if there is a cheaper way to get access to all of their coverage?

Will see the changes now, with Liberty media as new F1owner. Not sure it will be for the best, sadly.
