Been a small year for me.. The need for a new watch has been scratching my thoughts for a long time, but having a hard time justifying buying another piece... I spend a lot of time looking though 馃檮

Love this thread! I've just understood how crazy I feel and may seem after this post.

First, the one I got for the miss, and this one is not going anywhere:

Then, the ones I got in 2017 but which have left, most of them to fund what you'll see below :

And now, the ones I've bought, are here and will stay here for a long time still! (let's hope)

Last, one i bought in 2017, which I no longer have (but I've given it to my dad, so it's in the family 馃榾 )

Not bad considering budget constraints, about 20% turnover and kept the 1:1 in out promise

Expanded my Omega collection by just one, thanks to a keen eyed staff member

Also added a couple Bucherer chronos, a panda and a reverse

Expanded my home town Bulova with a couple vintage and some modern

Even added a couple of 1950's Longines

Way back in January I got my 1st Lemania

Then last week I found its Certina cousin though its still en route . . .
Nice stuff. Have been looking for Bucherers

Very nice thread and some very nice watches added to the OF community! 2017 was my second year of serious watch illness and quite the busy one for me.

The ins:

And the one that left the collection , but stayed within the OF-family:

Exited to see more 2017 development with the collections, keep the posts coming 馃嵖

Cheers,

Max

First year of watch collecting for me, mainly spent trying to figure out what I like. Bought some watches I regret buying, sold some watches I regret selling. Started out with aspirations of collecting vintage tool watches but that has since evaporated. Modern classics are my focus now.

Current stable (all bought this year):

Gone but not forgotten:

Overall a good year for watches! Here鈥檚 hoping 2018 is even better.

1675 GMT, II.61 (born one qtr before me!), pointed crown guard, gilt exclamation mark @6 rail dial, cal 1560, from original owner. Came with bright, blue back insert...found correct red back insert faded to my taste, also found correct 7206 w/correct end links.

At some point 24 hr hand was repainted all the way to tip. Left it with watchmaker today to remove/relume tip. Can鈥檛 turn out worse than present state. Will eventually get original hand.

Correct hand should look like this...

El Primero 386A MkIII

Clebar with Val 72... (A Heuer 2447 NST by any other name is just as sweet, and harder to source! Serial # even between the lug!)

Rockford Model #1 KWKS, circa 1876. enclosed by a GW Ladd Hunter case(Even harder to source a Ladd Hunter than a 2447NST,17years for me!)

If you like serifs, click and expand this photo:

And a extra-special PW secured via generous member propervinyl

Ball-Waltham

and a few also ran's馃榿

These watches are all very cheap. Lots of watches at only a few $100s each 馃槜
