I am honored as well for being selected as an honourable mention. Thanks for taking the time and effort Darlinboy. These competitions are one of the things making this forum so fun to be a member of.

Which stash are you taking about? I will settle for the Zenith Cairelli (Yes, I am a modest guy) if you mean watches. If you mean this stash, I will be happy with anything 馃榿

Hahaha this is so cool! I greatly enjoyed this thread, and the photography challenge. Huge props to mr. @Darlinboy and his family for organizing this awesome contest, and I'm not just saying that because I won third place (...though I admit it helps a little 馃槈).

Seriously, I've had a pretty lousy week and this makes me feel better!

Congrats to the well-deserved first and second place winners. In addition to the very high quality of their photographs in terms of composition, they also featured some awesome watches. That just makes me extra happy that my picture of a non-WIS, novelty watch was able to win a prize 馃槦

Despite your sarcasm, I decided to have mercy on you and replace "Farmer John" with a much worthier avatar message:
馃槈 馃憤
Thank you Denis! I was always reluctant to ask for a change to my old message, though I didn't much like it when everyone kept calling me John. What stayed my hand was the knowledge that if it was ever changed, the new one would likely be worse. Thanks for confirming my belief! 馃う

Wow!

I'm truly honoured to win a prize in this competition, and even more so considering the quality of the other contestants' entries.

I have so many people to thank for their support that it's hard to know where to start. I'd like to thank my Mum for having me, Mr Pearce from the high school photography club, Tony at the camera store, Annie for making me go on the walk to the beach and...................

Hang on, it's not an Oscar is it?

OK, then just a huge thankyou @Darlinboy and his judging panel, first for his generosity and forum spirit, and the panel for their obvious good taste 馃榿

And as my Granddaughter likes to say when she is excited.....................................

2764 2764 2764 2764 2764 2764 2764 2764 2764 2764 2764 2764 2764 2764 1f354 1f354 1f354 1f354 2764 2764 2764 2764 2764 1f308 1f308 1f308 1f308 1f308 1f308 1f308 1f308 1f308 1f308 1f354 1f354 1f354 1f354 1f354 1f354 1f354 1f49b 1f49b 1f49b 1f49b 1f49b 1f49b 1f49b

Blah blah blah, yada yada.... Thank goodness you didn't finish first, or you'd probably still be rambling on. 馃檮

Seriously, nice photo and well-deserved.馃憤

Dude, you got THIRD honorable mention - don't set your expectations so high. And don't make me whip out my avatar message on you. ::stirthepot::

Somebody wake up @styggpyggeno1 and tell him he won. 馃榿

Many thanks @Darlinboy (Paul) and family! 馃憤

Received the Omega Speedmaster placard with metal base! It looks like what Omega boutiques and ADs use for display! Very cool! Goes with the Speedy Gonzales perfectly! 馃憤

I crack up laughing every time I read about a Swede retreating to a remote island. Isn't that the ultimate dream of the average Swede -- to own and live on a tiny island?

Sweden ranks 194th worldwide in population density. It has fewer inhabitants than Los Angeles County. A County! And yours is a whole damn Country. What is it that you so desperately need to get away from???

Now do area comparison .

Se - 449,964 km2
La county - 12,310 km2

Total islands approx 221 800
Number of mosquitos per person easy 100+

errm I grew upon a island and in the summer we would escape to the main land. Now I'd take either. I wish was there too for "midsommar fest" that is this weekend. Just soon know its normal for scandinavia to shut down during industrial summer holidays. And retreat to "sommarhus p氓 landet" (The summer house).
