Hi, it does include a "Refurbishing of the case and metal bracelet to original OMEGA specifications (polished, satin-finished)", however they make no mention of the bezel.

"To complete a service we usually need 4 to 8 weeks. However, for some old calibres, we have to send them to our HQ in Switzerland and the timeframe changes, 2 to 4 months.
Please note what it鈥檚 included in a complete service.
Dismantling of the case
Refurbishing of the case and metal bracelet to original OMEGA specifications (polished, satin-finished)
Assembling of the case and replacement of tube, crown, pushers and gaskets
Restoration of water-resistance with above mentioned spare parts
Dismantling of the movement and replacement of worn or damaged movement components
Cleaning of the dismantled parts and movement base
Re-assembling of the movement with new lubrication
Replacing of the hands, if necessary
Turning of the precision
Technical and aesthetic final check of the assembled timepiece
2 year warranty"

"The retail price for this service is AUD 1,100 inclusive of GST" = $750USD

I weighed all this up when I purchased this watch. I agree, there could be one or two problems which could increase the service cost, such as the clasp on the bracelet and the bezel. However, these are two items I could source myself at a later date if the quote for replacements is high. I can also live with the bezel the way it is, it looks pretty cool. This watch actually looks like it was heavily used for diving, I could be wrong, but the fading and case have the appearance of a tool watch used for its intended purpose.

If possible you should see if you can get the new adjustable seamaster clasp. I have an America's Cup chrono from the early 00's and the one thing I wish I could change was to have a micro adjustment on the clasp. Wouldn't hurt to ask them if it's possible since you're spending the money anyways.

I am dropping it off this week, so I will ask. Thanks for the tip, fingers crossed they can do that for me.

I bet you were surprised with the weight of that watch when you took the screen shot! Those SS chronos on their bracelets are a big hunk of metal 馃榾

Yeah, having never owned one I can see why they get so banged up. They really are small wrecking balls attached to your wrists. For example, I own a few Omega 200m pre bonds and none of them turn up as destroyed as the Chronograph and they are in some cases 15 years older. I should have this back in two months so I will post some after photos. I have seen these sell unserviced for more than I will eventually pay for mine so I am still on track money wise. That even includes buying a replacement bezel.

oh I agree you are doing just fine cost-wise. There's plenty of people selling time-only bond seamasters for over $2000 USA money and they ain't serviced either...

I could have sworn I heard of someone doing it either to 1st Gen. PO or an older Seamaster which is what sparked my curiosity.

Let us know what you find out!

Somewhere in the Modern section, there is a thread that goes over what is needed for the early Planet Oceans. I actually have a stainless clasp that fits right on the 42mm 8500 series PO but, I think you need a special link or two for the older models

Ya I'm pretty sure it's the 118st1590 end links that are required.

I picked up a couple extras to try and retrofit my 1st gen. PO but the adjustable clasp they sent me was faulty so I'm just waiting on a new one at present.

Very nice by the looks of it externally: new crown, pushers, helium valve, hands, dial and bezel and of course lets not forget gaskets. Being a heavy watch they surely must have replaced some if not all bracelet pins as well. Interested in that spare parts picture!

$1750AUD including a clasp and bezel replacement. In the end the watch cost me slightly less than the ones I see available that are unserviced, so I think I did ok.

Thank you. I have to say omega had this serviced and ready for return in only four weeks, which is very impressive considering the lump I left with them in February.

That's pretty fast time of service does seem to vary per service center and even location
