Don’t really want to drag this out, but a while back started to phone round Tudor dealers in Canada looking for a non-WIS friend who was interested in a 58 navy or 925 for his anniversary. No one had the silver version, which were deposit only. And he’s still waiting for a new one nearly 3 months later. Same thing with the FXD.

Again, I am not arguing for an equivalence between models or marques. Just noting that Omega’s pricing strategy seems to involve a steady and r relentless push upwards, one that in some markets is taking it a long away from where it was even 3-5 years ago.

But they obviously know what they’re doing, so more power to ‘em, I guess.
There are several available on CWC. Good luck.

I honestly feel like a bit of this is Omega finally taking the market position they rightfully deserve. Yes, the increases over the last 2.5 years have been big, but the relative quality of the watches justifies it when you compare to other watches. If you have seen an Ed White 321 in the flesh, it is gorgeous and above the quality of a Rolex. The Apollo 8 and Apollo 11 50th (both steel and all gold) are also stunning. The SMP punches above its weight. This is a recalibration of the brand that is rightfully deserved. Even with the recent price increase, I don’t know of a better diver than SMP in a somewhat similar price range even if willing to spend 2 to 3k more. The new Seamaster 300 is also beautiful.

I think it's fair for Omega to move up, but disagree that the Ed White is 'above the quality of a Rolex'. The Daytona is basically the same price but is more accurate, has a larger power reserve, is more anti-magnetic, has a column wheel, is vertical clutch, has a higher beat rate, has ceramic bearings for the automatic winding system, more jewels, is more waterproof, is more shockproof, and has a better built clasp.

I'm a big Omega fan, but the Daytona is technically superior, imo, and is at least finished as well as an Omega.

the watch isn’t meant to be the latest technology, it is not metas certified like the most recent co-axial movements. It is a limited production reproduction of a vintage movement made to satisfy demand from hardcore fans and collectors. It is arguably much more rare than a standard steel Daytona, that is mass produced. The only reason you can’t buy a Daytona is because dealers are feeding them to gray market and back door taking kick backs under table from gray market dealers. The Ed White is pretty much only delivered to boutiques that are owned by Swatch. Rolex doesn’t own their own stores.

Try adding to basket and checking out
Tried with the 3861 Sapphire Sandwich on bracelet and it’s the same price of $7150 and hesalite on strap was still $5950.

Uk prices have gone up - Goldsmiths and Ernest Jones showing new, higher prices. A few of the smaller companies showing the old prices. If I was in the market for a new Moonwatch I would be acting very swiftly this morning!!!

I think it's already too late.

There are a few dealers online that haven't changed prices yet. Order online and you might be in luck.

I have been eyeing the 2021 Sapphire Speedmaster for most of last year and this impending price rise finally got me to pull the trigger. Bought on Goldsmiths website on Sunday night via a TopCashback referral link which should (fingers crossed) give me £800 cashback as they have a circa 15% cashback offer.

Arrived this morning and loving it so far. The sapphire is great and I love the tapered bracelet. The previous bracelet always had a 90s / early 2000s vibe to me and was the main thing that stopped me from getting the prior (two) models.

Joining it's Speedy brothers in the collection and I can see it becoming a nice daily wear.

I am right there with you. It costs me $40+ to fill up nowadays. Prior to this year never saw that number before. So depressing.
Wow. It costs me around 105 dollars to fill the tank here in Israel. But I'm not depressed. 😀 By the way, a 300m costs 6282 dollars. An Aquaterra costs 7575 dollars. It's possible to get a small discount. 200 dollars off the 300m.

Wow, 7575 dollars for AT? I bought mine last week from AD for ~5200$. Managed to get 20% discount but still.
