Someone in the Netherlands heard from his AD an increase of 500 euro for a Speedmaster.

Source of that page? Wording doesn't sound legit, Omega wouldn't tell people to "shop now to avoid disappointment".

They raised prices on 1 December 2021. I don’t understand why they’d increase them again.

Even if so, I find such advertisements from ADs really shady. Despite the good intentions, it looks like an aggressive nudge to buy the watch (as opposed to focusing on marketing Omega’s unique selling points, for example). Also, what’s the point when I can still get 20-25% off of MSRP?

Only for seamaster, and a couple of hundreds, I recall.

That’s right, it was +$200 on the SMP Divers.

I don’t get it though, since you can still get them new from an AD (with a 5-year Omega warranty) for the ~$4,600 mark. That’s down from an MSRP of $5,400.

I get it. Omega is repositioning itself (after all, high quality products shouldn’t ever be discounted). But that’s not the case on the ground. Far from it.

Better get in quick with the Canopus Gold with the 321 movement before it gets too expensive! 😗

Back in the late-70's and early-80's prices were raised two or three times a year by substantial amounts due to raging inflation. It could happen again, the era of 2% inflation looks like it is gone for awhile.

I'm guessing the AD's received those Seamasters under the previous wholesale price so those still have room for the discount. When Omega raises MSRP, they probably also raise the wholesale price to AD's (just a hunch but idk for sure).

Didn’t the Fed say it was “transitionary”? 👎

Governments tell us a lot of things, much of it deliberately misleading. Inflation is one thing people clearly understand every time they go shopping, they don't need some gov't functionary telling them it's not real or just temporary.

" shop now to avoid disappointment?" shop for what exactly, the AD's I've visited had very low inventory to begin with.

Low inventory of what? Standard sports models? That’s interesting, because they’re all available at mine.

Maybe this is an encouraging message from Omega HQ to ADs to stock up? Call to action to start the year strong?

Looks sketchy/fake to me... Based on other newsletters I've received from Omega, none of those fonts look right.
