Anyway it’s worth remembering the maxim: “ He who dies with the most toys wins!”

Can i have that Seafarer 2444?

This is more worrying than I thought. I have no recollection of having either a Seafarer or a 6200

Vintage Neuchatel manual wind 21 Jewel, looks like an oversize. Sold for $71.00 but if I had started bidding where would it end at?

If the item I’m considering is on fleabay, I use a auction sniper app to do my bidding.
My bid goes in with 3 seconds to go, leaving no chance for the others to overbid me, if my bid lower than they’d already bid then they get it, but as no one knows I’m having a go till it’s to late for them to react, I stand a better chance.
An added bonus is that I don’t get caught up in bidding wars, and I just set it well ahead of the auction deadline, I’m free to live a normal life without forever checking on the bid or watching the process at an inconvenient time.

Sadly yes,and the point is proven by not being able to sell them

Look on the bright side fellas, there are always freshun’s like me with new skin in the game to buy your watches.

My problem is to stop collecting the stray dogs! sure they are stray dogs from nice suburbs, but still have big vet bills ahead. Out of my 10 watches only 4 work. That’s when I have the “what am I doing” moments.

Yeah just took a pair of my pups to the vet, the speedy hopefully just needs a quick once over, but the vintage trench watch is gonna need a bit……. Both will cost a sugar bag of fun tickets and both will be away for some time as he’s busier than a dog with two dicks!

Still love this watch as much as I did when I bought it.

And I still love it as much as when I first saw it. Still hoping you decide to sell it, and the 132 people ahead of me on the dibs list turn it down.

Says the guy wearing a $50k watch on his wrist wringing his hands at $71!!
I joke, but I’m the same way.

All too often.

It's not that I want to keep them, more that the thought of the hassle of selling them -- all the tyre-kicker nimrods with their "Would you accept $813 for your Ed White?" -- exhausts me before I even get round to taking the photos

@timjohn , I’d like dibs on the grey Seiko chronograph. It was a gift from my dad in 1975. I wore it 30+/- years and it was the first “real” watch I owned.

Since we are dibs’ing, I’ll put my hat in for the 844

Guys, if timjohn can’t even remember what watches he has, what makes you think he’s maintaining a dibs list? 😜

Nice way of downsizing the collections… photo of the entire collections and prospects just zoom in…

Tricky part is getting folks to actually PAY for them.

Geez, I started around 2 years ago, and I'm approaching 100 runners, and 50 projects. Plus now I bought tools and stuff to work on them along with some training (and stop messing them up more, amirite @gbesq?) I say approaching, as I'm not done buying, but I'm having trouble selling. I listed a couple, but no one here wants them, I know they aren't perfect but geez. Willing to sell, but not willing to take a loss seems like most of our issues? If I was willing to go no reserve on eBay, I'd probably cry more than be relieved.

But yeah, I still look at them and go what was I thinking, as I try to figure out which one I'm going to wear that day ... and evening.

@Aroxx , ‘Twas tongue-in-cheek. I thought I was doing well, I reduced my modest collection by 8, now I’m down to two “keepers” and really don’t want any more. 😉
