Crown is wrong, crystal may be OK. Ask for pictures of the sides, they should be vertically brushed.

Can't get those crowns new any more, so that's a wash.

When I was researching original finish for mine I noted that some cases were curved on the sides and some were flat. So that's a thing, too.

I just bought a new one in blister. Sightly different logo than the original, but nice overall.

Yes. I saw one with original box and papers. It came in the red box like the one above or something like this. Forgot which one

I had a 166.010 a few years ago with original box and papers. This was the box it came in.

Also, although I agree that a 29mil serial is high/late for this type of bracelet, this ref is frequently seen on a bracelet and 49 times out of 50 this is the type you see so imo the bracelet could well be original.

hi all,

thank you so much for all the generous feedback and comments, i really appreciate each and every one of them.
i suppose this is the kind of learnings a newbie like me would very much find helpful.
negotiation with seller in underway, due to MCO things may be a little delay.
am sure to post a picture of the watch (fingers crossed) on this thread to wrap it up.

ps/ am looking at a few other pieces, man...this is expensive hobby really! haha....
