LATE ENTRY: Along the lines of aspiring to be an astronaut, I distinctly remember when NASA distributed the astronaut [pilot] application pamphlets to our Navy SH-60B Seahawk helicopter squadron [HSL-45] back in the late 1980s/early 1990s...lol. All of us Seahawk pilots thought it was pretty funny since in order to even initially qualify as an astronaut [pilot], the NASA pamphlet specifically stated that you had to have X number of flight hours in tactical jets…and from what I remember, we danced around in the squadron passageways waving the NASA pamphlets exclaiming that maybe we could get waivers regarding the tactical jet time requirement. 😁

And then NASA changes the rules and lets helicopter pilots apply...😡

Astronaut Frank Rubio, on board the ISS as we speak, was an Army UH-60 pilot. AND, as an Astronaut, he gets training to fly the supersonic T-38!

Strap change for Speedy Tuesday. Went with the crater strap. (grey ostrich, has sort of a lunar look IMO)

Anybody else catch the lunar eclipse last night? I happened to be up at 3am to drive my family to the airport so I got to see it in all its glory.

Happy Tuesday! (Yup - snow. In November. In Vancouver.)

I'd be in full winter duck hunting regalia if that much snow was on the ground and you're in short sleeves!

It's been a while so I figured it was time I popped in to say, "Hello!"

After about nine months of ownership I had started to feel a bit apathetic towards the PRX. I have a few vintage pieces (thanks to the enablers here) with so much more character that the PRX had started to be neglected. So I thought back to what attracted me to it in the first place; a modern and fairly accurate movement with great power reserve, an interesting "blue waffle" dial, a weird funky futuristic aesthetic that can be a bit polarizing. I gave myself a challenge; wear the PRX (nearly) exclusively for the entire month of October and reevaluate my feelings towards it. I have decided that it is a great value go anywhere do anything every day watch.

If I had it to do over again, I think I would go with one of the newer 35mm quartz versions. I glance at it far more frequently than I admire it so a more subtle dial would be fine and I tend to prefer a more understated smaller presence on the wrist. These are the few critiques I have of the watch and they aren't enough to motivate me to do anything about it. It was a fun experiment. I won't make any changes to my collection or habits but it was a nice reminder of a fun piece to throw on pretty much any time without needing to think too hard about the decision.

I reckon I'm slightly more resilient than most locals who shriek 'it's too hot!' after 2-3 days of 26C weather (80F), and positively wither when it gets below 5C (40F). It's 0 (32) today. I lived for 30+ years in Calgary (@Canuck territory). I know a cold blast from a wee chill. 😁

As I await the delivery driver returning my SMP from servicing, I wear this beauty from ‘67. Nice companion in the pouring rain
