Thanks. This case back appears on some steel and gold-capped Flagships from the 60's. The 18k models have the ship in solid gold relief. Mine is, I think, a cal 341 from 1961. But don't hold me to it... I'm no Longenius.
Heading back to work tonight and the only thing I am looking forward to is seeing my other watches. Five is just not enough to keep me amused
Could not take a decent picture of this watch if my life depended on it. The dial is deep midnight blue and the sapphire crystal is double A/R coated. It's like some kind of light bending black hole. So, in 1989 you could have purchased (2) Rolex Submariners for the price of (((this))) watch. Today, you can purchase ~(8/9) of these for the price of those same (2) used subs. Boxes, papers, original strap; the whole (9) yards... Let's Be Careful Out There /Sergeant Esterhaus
Bleak Saturday afternoon here, hope it is better wherever you are. A little bumper to pass the time -
Was wondering what folks would make of this posting. While I was indeed wearing this watch yesterday , I must confess that I don't actually own any watches retailing at $700,000.00 + . I was at a local Jewelers yesterday for a manufactures watch fair and got to try on this and others. Hands on with these (Patek, Parmigiani, JLC, etc. is always educational and fun.
