Just got this back from my WM yesterday, bought it with about 16 or 17 watches about 2 weeks ago for about $3.50 for the lot of them.
Really wasn't going to bother with servicing this until I looked closely at what I had.
When I first picked it up it was in a cosmetically poor state covered in an accumulation of grime, the lens was so obscured and damaged I would have sworn some one had sand papered it with a fine grit, couldn't even make out the name of it but on a hunch decided that I would get my WM to evaluate it anyway.
His first comment having looked at it was that it was a most unusual movement where things had been done quite differently than most calibres and that it had a faulty component related to the column wheel which when he had tried to locate it from his many varied suppliers couldn't, indeed they had no knowledge of the movement number whatsoever, discouraging stuff! in the end he rebuilt the part as one was never likely to happen along (my WM is exceptionally dedicated!)
So after a lens change and full service plus repair the watch on completion looks literally like new, not due to any cosmetic enhancement at all but just because it must have sat in a drawer after going faulty very very early in its life.
Other than having seen the name Cronel referenced on the internet I know zip about the company or the watch at this point and is the first one I have ever seen....... let Google be my friend
😁
I must say that whilst it is a little diminutive in size it really looks very good on the wrist, it may have been built with the intention of being a unisex but I am absurdly pleased with the look.
