Thanks for that. Indeed an outstanding piece. It is a “pin set” model which would lead me to think it is perhaps older than the serial number indicates. And it is 18-karat, no less! Looks to have had next to no use.
I submitted a request for an Extract of the Archives to Longines yesterday at 11:34 pm and they just answered now at 09:24 am (less than 12 hours, amazing !) with this :

« A l’origine, le numéro de série 2'970'966 identifie un chronographe de poche Lépine en or 18ct. Il est équipé d’un mouvement Longines mécanique à remontage manuel, calibre 19.73N et ce garde-temps a été facturé le 21 juillet 1919 à la maison Perusset, alors notre agent pour la France. »

Translated into English :
« Originally, the serial number 2'970'966 identified a Lépine pocket chronograph in 18ct gold. It is equipped with a manual-winding Longines movement, caliber 19.73N and this timepiece was invoiced on July 21, 1919 to the house of Perusset, then our agent for France. »

These are really interesting not familiar with the brand at all but I see them more frequently lately

They've been at it for a couple years but have a distinct style, which finally drew me in.

Election “Grand Prix” powered by an in-house cal. 805, which later went on to be the basis for Longines cal. 490.
