...and then there was this critter on the trail, a juvenile Western Diamondback...my third rattlesnake encounter since March of this year...
...but fortunately the cool weather kept this dude/dudette in a relatively lethargic state, and it was easy to gently encourage it to leave the trail. The creature was so cold it couldn't even vibrate its tail...poor thing.
Gorgeous specimen! I’d say that’s a lucky trio of encounters, so long as you didn’t get bit!
Yesterday, I had an encounter with this rat snake while walking near my sister’s house in North Texas.
This (let’s call it a gal) reptile surprised me by attempting to crawl up into my shorts!
Luckily, I was able to stop her progress before she encountered the other snake! 😁
