For the first time in 21 years, I'm not wearing one of my two Omega watches.
A hand-me-down from my uncle's jewelry box we went through years ago, it has been tucked in a drawer since. It takes a 1.35v mercury battery, so I'm trying one of Wein's air cell batteries. This is an early '70s electronic (not quartz) Girard Perregaux ESA 9154 "Electronic".
I know it's not collectible or valuable, but thanks to the folks on here I found out about the Kong dog toy and could finally get the back open.
My "Saturday Night Take The Missus Out" watch; here's a patina I like. The hands have a bit too much corrosion though. Oh, well it's "an honest watch".
Haven't had my late 60's HO/OO gauge trains out in a loooong time. Some of them were still wrapped in newspaper from late 1972 and early '73 from New Hampshire where I grew up (although the trains are Canadian themed made by Britain's Tri-ang Hornby).
Kinda fun to read through the scraps. Steak at $1.29/lb, bed sheets $1.58, shirts $2.50, 4-Pc Bedroom set $149, Dow 30 at 1032. Articles on changing the monetary system, Apollo 17...but that one's mostly cut off, Larry Brown named NFC Player of the Year, politics of course...
