I finally gave in a picked one off / up last week a 16750 polar dial which is turning "creme" (more watch Ebonics). I think it's just about a perfect daily wearer and that's what it's going to be :)

I can't believe what a good deal I feel I got on this watch. Look @ the visible tarnish - it's never been buffed or shined.

a "tasteful" super light service watch engraving (could easily
be removed - none the wiser ) got me about a 20% discount, I figure. Gonna wear it for Moms bday; very excited! I'm starting to really like Omega's.

Thanks guys! This is far and away the coolest online watch community, IMHO...

One of the few Rolex watches where the term "rare" can be used and is verifiable fact. Very rare.

i have (2) sg 18k; one is in unworn condition and Rolex service told me only a few hundred were made and exist. :) I consider these investments and not really watches... It's sort of a cowardly way of dealing with quartz lol

From what I can ascertain Rolex has only made a total of 25K OysterQuartz watches in it's entire history. They still make a Cellini Quartz today.

Rich, an investment is an investment and you won't go wrong with those two in your portfolio, worn or unworn.

    Yes, yes you're completely correct.
Even the most ardent quartz haters begrudgingly admit the oysterquartz is one of the most handsome and elegant wristwatches Rolex has ever produced. You commented on the weight of the watch. Consider there's no rotor and the density of that case is even more impressive.
And, it's such a wonderfully balanced watch, isn't it?

That watch looks terrific on on your wrist. Wonderful wrist presense; I bet you receive plenty of genuine compliments on that lovely piece of artwork...

can you tell, I'm a fan? hehe

maybe it's just garden variety confirmation bias but my understanding is that many in-house Rolex workers have strong affinity for this design

    wear it in good health!!

Thanks, I wish it got more wrist time.

Even Genta was impressed with this design from what I have heard. That's high praise in my opinion.

Important meeting today but nobody noticed the watch :( Maybe it was because I was the only guy there or maybe it was a sign from above that I need to buy a huge diver. If the good Lord would only provide more funds (I'm atheist, so I know he won't)

Many people just don't notice watches. Unless of course the watch is big, flashy, lairy and disgusting.:(. Yours is plain, classy and classical. No one will notice it. Unless you keep pointing at it and smiling. ;)

    I'm an apathist - I just don't care about organized religion. :p

Besides, you have to pray to the Watch Gods, and sacrifice chocolate, to score a nice watch.
