My first most coveted « nice watch », vintage from the 1990s. I was afraid it might look too fancy at work but it kind of works on a laid back summer week end.
Loving the modified NATO nylon in my co-axial Speedy. As I have opined often, finding 21mm strap I like is not easy. The hair straighting hot iron did the trick putting bends in the thick nylon strap so it didn’t protrude at the lugs. Then I removed the two metal rings for tucking excess strappage and slipped on a nylon loop from a WatchGecko Zulu Diver.
1956 Bulova "23" K self winding....Bulova's first in-house automatic movement, and first Bulova movement built entirely in the U.S....one of the first precision movements Bulova used in a wristwatch, having six adjustments -- heat, cold, isochronism and three positions. This watch sold for $75 in the day, or roughly $700 in current dollars adjusted for inflation. Runs great and keeps very accurate time. Good NAWCC article on the Bulova "23" series for anyone interested http://docs.nawcc.org/Bulletins/2010/articles/2010/387/387_455.pdf
Still on the wrist, and with good reason me thinks! Girard-Perregaux Sea Hawk Ref.7100 - cal. GP 215 - ca.1989.
