Had a small GTG with @ChuckMK23 today at Hooters...modern Speedy Gonzales Moonwatch again for today [third day in a row]...still testing the replacement Velcro hooks on the Omega replica NASA strap...the Velcro adhesive backing continues to remain secure...even at Hooters! 👍

Tough job....

So the “choose it and wear it for a week regime” continues. After a week with my Seiko 5, once again I dipped into the less well-worn slots of the watchbox and pulled out the latest choice. Apart from gift/inheritance watches it’s the least expensive purchase I have made. It cost £0. For the story (if you are at all interested) see this thread.

Just a couple of random thoughts. After the non-hacking/handwinding Seiko, this is the same, but I really don’t see it as too much (if any) of a downside as 10 seconds or less of gentle shaking gets it going. The sunburst dial is really nice, especially when the sun catches it and I rather like the distinctive screwdown day change pusher. Finally, though I’m no expert in cheap bracelets, this one is perfectly adequate. I’d have preferred solid endlinks, but the rest is pretty good, even has an adjustable clasp and (thankfully) does not display any depilatory tendencies 😀

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you my holiday beater Orient Blue Mako.
