This one for a change, today. Don’t wear it much. Too small for my big wrist. Gruen “driver’s” watch with articulated lugs. Designed for use during the era of “Armstrong” steering, and “plan ahead” braking. You can wear it as usual, or on the edge of the wrist. This one had been a salesman’s sample back in the day when Gruen had an office in Canada. When that office closed, the managing director moved to Rolex, Canada, in a lateral position. When he found out I collect watches, he gave it to me. I sent him a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label, and he was furious!

I’ve decided that I’m not a fan of the suede strap that came with the Rebel - it looks great but gets too hot and sweaty. Fortunately I also ordered a black PVD bracelet with it, so today it’s getting its first outing - much better so far. And the sun obliged by coming out to show off the dial a little better. Double win!

Flying to New York for a weekend of fun and a couple days of meetings next week
