Did Croton really stuff all that gold and gilting into a stainless steel case?

This watch is freaking beautiful. Almost perfect to my taste. Also, would this, could this, possibly be a clamshell case (((crossses fingers)))...? Instead of a compressor case.

Can I call dibs (only my 2nd time in X years)??
