Bulova POS show cards provided to jewellery stores when this model was introduced, heavily associated the model with the Apollo 11 moon landing. In fact, for a time, Bulova called it the "Apollo" model. I have one, gold filled. I sold it , brand new, to its previous owner in 1969.

@CTS-V , As a youngster I grew up abroad as my father was in the Navy and State Dept. Great memories. I'm sure your son will have great ones too.

@duc....Thank you for the well wishes and thank you for your family's service to our country. As you definitely know...it is never easy on a military kiddo moving every 18 months to a different continent and having to adjust and make new friends etc....

However....one constant that my son and I have found with all the moves and the mayhem is our love for watches. BTW.... my son has a Tin Tin in the mail right now from Kringkily that will be his high school graduate present in about 14 years. In the meantime....I'm going to make sure it is well taken care of! :)

Weekends are short when Monday starts at 0200. Nevertheless, I managed to get a bike ride in. Access to the Sunrise Trail is only a few miles from my house. I actually ride from my house to get on the trail. There is one particular hill that kicks my @&&. I've made it up without stopping a few time, but when I do, I usually throw up at the top of the hill. Motivation to get over the hill is easy; a few years ago the power company upgraded the lines along this goat trail. Ever since then, the swarm of horse flies on the hill is mind boggling. In the lowest of the low gears its all I can do to keep from being carried away. Still, gotta burn calories. These two are from the half way point (55 minutes - 10 miles):

Home at 1 hour, 52 minutes.

The Hamtum is a surprisingly good value. At a little over $200, it's Ti and came with a Ti bracelet and the well fitting rubber strap shown. I'm going to put it through some paces next week wrapping up my coverage of the bridge.
