I'll join you for a short time this morning.... ...... the switch to the Chrono Cockpit for the afternoon.
Oooooh that's given me wood. I had one of these as a kid in the early 70s and that's when I fell in love with sports cars: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DINKY-187-DE-TOMASO-MANGUSTA-5000-BOXED-/250969174966Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
This belonged to one of my great-grandfathers...family lore is that he escaped Russian military service during the Russo-Japanese War, in his mid-20s, dressed in a babushka, and emigrated to America...he went on to become a plumber, and eventually a successful Philadelphia developer (a street is named after him in West Oak Lane--well, a little street). He died when I was 4, and I remember him fondly. Case and bracelet are 14K white gold. Funny thing is that I had no idea this Solvil watch existed until my uncle gave it to me last year. I think it was stored in a box for 45 years, crystal cracked along the way (my watchmaker had a correct NOS replacement).
