Hey Barking Mad, tell us more about this watch. Hopefully I'm not the only one who doesn't fully recognize what you've posted there. It looks very Seamaster-like. But then I see the yobokies dial and I don't know what to think. In my limited experience so far, I've only seen yobokies associated with SKX009 modding. Is this a modded Seiko?

I did a little looking some time ago at yobokies but was confused at what I found (which wasn't much if I remember). Anyway, thanks in advance for the explanation.

In any case, I like it!
it's a fifty fathoms Homage & yes it's a Seiko & a nice 1 @ that

Is that pointer (to the hour 10) the month indicator?
Nope, this model is a Memovox E855 from 1969. The pointer is the mechanical alarm setting.

This just in, 50's ref 6581:

And I must add, my first Rolex..😀

Ok... I might be changing my mind about Rollies due to these very two pics... where is the blue hue coming from? This is stunning! Thanks for sharing 😀

The seconds hand is a blued steel, some of which may be from that, but I believe I caught the bright blue sky reflecting off the indices... indoors I haven't noticed the blue..

Until I saw more of Rolex's vintage from the 50's, I wasn't at all a fan, either, but these have changed my tune a bit 👍

Yes sir
This unexpectedly turned out more alluring than I thought. Just a tad big on my wrist though

@ELV web , is yours the 38mm too?

The A288 (minus 11, I always hit 88 instead of 77) with the wrong paddle hand again today.

Nine days on the wrist. My 45-year old Rolex Air-King. I don't remember the last time I serviced it, so since I had nothing better to do today, I stripped it and cleaned it. The oil was still in fairly good shape when I stripped it, but I feel better now that it is done. I've had it since new, in 1971, and I don't recall how many times I have serviced it. But for the last 25 years or so, I haven't worn it for more than about one year. Too many watches!
