Seamaster ref. 2493, 1950. Look at that crystal profile. Why can’t we get those?

OK. This has been real and this has been fun, but this hasn't been real fun!

Sleet mixed with a little snow fell on Saturday and Sunday. It has solidified into mounds of slick ice that is impossible to safely negotiate. Cannot get out our doors due to the impediments of yuckiness. I am not accustomed to such mistreatment. I know I am a tender wimp when it comes to winter conditions compared with so many of y'all, but I've had enough of this. I'm about to cause something to happen and begin clearing this out while wearing a Speedmaster!

Low profile acrylic crystals are available. They are best suited to watches like yours, with the subsidiary seconds hand. Not so good for watches with a centre sweep seconds hand. Most repair people will be able to supply them, even if they have to order them.

Check out the snowfall in Ontario, Canada! You’ll have a different appreciation for the “inconvenience” of the small amount of snow you have to deal with.
