··Home For Wayward WatchesNational Pocket Watch Day? Good idea, but by whose decree? I’m involved in a watch & clock appraisal clinic at our local historic park on Saturday. And it was time to decide which pocket watch I would carry. Hmmmmmm! This one! My Hamilton grade 941 which is the hunter cased version of the venerable grade 940, a popular railroad standard pocket watch. I’ll wear it on my late maternal grandfather’s 9-karat Waldemar chain with an 1897 English half-sovereign coin and 14-karat gold pocket knife. I’ll wear it Good Friday (today) on my @DaveK leather mystery braid lanyard.
By the way, I found out that National Watch Day is slated for Thursday, June 19, 2025. Mark it on your calendars.
