National Pocket Watch Day? Good idea, but by whose decree? I’m involved in a watch & clock appraisal clinic at our local historic park on Saturday. And it was time to decide which pocket watch I would carry. Hmmmmmm! This one! My Hamilton grade 941 which is the hunter cased version of the venerable grade 940, a popular railroad standard pocket watch. I’ll wear it on my late maternal grandfather’s 9-karat Waldemar chain with an 1897 English half-sovereign coin and 14-karat gold pocket knife. I’ll wear it Good Friday (today) on my @DaveK leather mystery braid lanyard.

By the way, I found out that National Watch Day is slated for Thursday, June 19, 2025. Mark it on your calendars.

It's a thing over on NAWCC forum. https://mb.nawcc.org/threads/april-...lroad-standard-pocket-watch-day.167689/page-5

Any excuse will do!

High octane adventures today.

Actually, very low octane. I haven't ridden go karts in years, and they're all electric now!

Deciding what to wear. I noticed the first watch I ever bought on the forum here had 18 in the date window. Happens to be my B-day today so made the choice easy

Continuing to be too lazy to wind and set another watch. The least I can do is add a few more shots.
