Thank you, sir. I'm fortunate to have two hobnails in my collection. They aren't easy to come by.

And in that condition even more difficult !

Vintage Seiko goodness! Also, spent the afternoon touring my new offices, under construction. Been with the same org since we were 5 people in a basement. This is unreal, but honestly I mostly just felt anxiety about all the new overhead costs 😒

Ca. 1975 Gruen “Big Triangle” 200M Diver - Ref 754 - powered by a 25J, ETA 2783. Some may call this a Gruen “Explorer II” based on the dial. Gruen most certainly shared Stern Freres as a dial manufacturer with the Rolex, specifically for the Explorer II - Reference 1655. Interestingly, Rolex purchased the Gruen Precision Factory building after their closing in 1976.

If only they had kept the 24-hour hand… still, pretty interesting looking watch and a nice mashup of the Explorer 2 and Submariner

I sold my "last" vintage boat about 10 years ago. Hrm... so much for last... I am a sucker for wooden boats. Could not resist. Had to restore yet another one.

Went to the ER on Tuesday for a new, but apparently common, even expected, symptom. Anyway, I got home this afternoon. Got the text this was ready at the watchmaker a few minutes before I left. Stopped by and picked it up on the way home.

Looks good, seems to be running well. Time will tell. This is a new-stock SM300 that I bought parts for from Ofrei in 2013 or 2014 with a 1171/1/633 and a movement I got off of eBay. Either my wrist is bigger or I don't remember but I had to move it all the way to the last microadjust clasp hole. I'm going to have to get a link for the 1171/1. Should've asked the watchmaker if he had one. Gotta imagine some people don't take them with them and many people have smaller wrists than I. I'll take my 2254.50 to him next.
