Another Silberstein today, this one a black Krono B 'Gummy' from 2000. These came with black, yellow, red or blue rubber covered cases with matching colored rubber straps, I thought I wanted a yellow one but the AD said black is best because the colored rubber would eventually show dirt, a wise comment. We put on a blue/red/yellow Silberstein cowhide strap on to give it even more color, and 24 years later it still looks as good as new. This is a good, fun summer watch. Lemania 5100 movement, 999 made.
Back from Grand Jury duty. It's the new year and I was chosen to sit on the Grand Jury for the next six months. yippie. It will be noticed that is a lower case "yippie." Not thrilled to hear of endless seedy misery, degradation, and squalor.
With any luck I will have a "twofer" today in WRUW for I'm changing into a black suit for attending the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra's evening performance and that entails a watch change. https://fwsymphony.org/23-24-season...ce-theatre-and-the-fwso-mozart-and-stravinsky Will be nice to enjoy and to clear the palate of today's wretchedness.
A friend said to me, “The Bulova Engineers must have had a sense of humor, pairing the Devil Diver 666/ft with the Coffin-Link bracelet!”
1967 Caravelle Sea Hunter (by Bulova)- Ref. 49482 - earlier full Swiss made "WATERPROOF" version - 35mm with date, powered by a Bulova 11OPACD (modified ETA 2472) automatic 17J movement. This model is often incorrectly called Ref. 665 due to the case back etch, however that is the case model number stamping. There is also a later (i.e. 1969) " the full Swiss WATER RESISTANT version with case back etch 665-1 that is powered by 11UPACD (a modified ETA 2874).
These sold around $39.95 when released. Of course fitted with the "HOLY GRAIL" of Caravelle bracelets, the full coffin link.
