Here's a fine lesson in patience that has worked out beautifully. This Certina Bristol 228 was listed on the OF Sales forum a few years back and offered to me if I was interested, which I was. While doing a little research, I stumbled upon an earlier thread where @vintage hab claimed "Dibs", so I asked that he have first option to add it to his collection if he was still interested, and if not, then I would gladly snag it. Well...he did want it, and did add it to his collection. Fast forward to this past weekend at the Mid-Atlantic G2G and my patience paid off. I now have the honor of being a steward of this fine piece, and hope to do it equal justice as the previous stewards have.

What a great community we have the pleasure of being a part. Cheers!

Congrats! That was one of the more eye-catching watches this weekend 👍

I picked up this very nice Seamaster 166.009 with arrowhead markers last week from a seller in Japan. The crystal has a small crack which provides me with the perfect excuse for getting rid of that ugly ass cyclops and fitting a “cyclopsless” replacement.

Wearing two Omegas today, this being one of them. My late 1980s Speedmaster reduced with 18-karat rose gold bezel, matching sub-dials, steel case, on bison leather strap. Model 175.0033. Europe only, and for a brief period. Dam I love this watch!

On another thread, a fellow OF member decided to sell his NTTD, so I decided to give mine some love today: super comfy on mesh, lightweight, two-color lume. Love everything about it!

No excuses needed to replace ugly Cyclops 😀
