Within the last week, I showed a picture of this mid-50s bumper automatic which I rarely wear. At the time, I boasted about how good a performer it has been, and how reliable. Later that day, it cratered! I hadn’t serviced for about 30 years, so today, I stripped it. This is an A Schild 1161 bumper automatic. It has a two-piece drive pinion with attached ratchet feature that is the final drive pinion in the automatic winding. But it is also involved in the manual winding of the movement. The two parts of the ratchet pinion had parted, so the watch was not winding either automatically, or manually. Today, I repaired the pinion and conditioned it. Back on the wrist.
Don't worry if you like the f300's. I have a watchmaker specialized in tuning fork movements that even does recoils. He is the one that repairs and services all my Accutrons Spaceview. PM me if you need his contact.
Good to know.
How do you PM someone on this forum?
Not to be a duffus but I never did it.

New to me Delvina 77 Jewel just back from service today.
The photo shows up the bezel plating defect however not noticeable at all when wearing it and it looks Fab!
Has a beautiful ETA 2452 movement, a calibre that Tudor used for its certified Chronometers, this one is very shiny and finely finished.
Note, I have 2 watches with this identical case, 20 micron plating, the other one is a totally different Brand and Watchmaker, is also a top specced watch and very high grade movement but obviously some thing went awry with the plating of the Bezels as the other one has performed similarly. The cases of both have zero wear or brassing.
It’s only an AC, but at least they bothered to index the slotted screws in the bezel….something some supposedly better watchmakers either can’t be arse doing, or worse… don’t know how to.
With CNC machines this is an easy thing to do.
